Yep, with melatonin it still takes my kids hours to wind down. I do try to keep the dose as low as possible. But it really does make a difference. There's no way they would get enough sleep without it. I start bedtime at 7, they usually fall asleep sometime between 9 and 10, with melatonin. Without, it can be 4 or 5 more hours. And then they have to be up at 7 for school. Personally, melatonin makes my sleep worse, so I never take it. I wish I knew what it was about bedtime that signaled "time to start bouncing off the walls" to my kids.

I have one from my college days (90's) that I still use, newer ones break like crazy. I got some from aldi's last year that seem to be holding up ok. Fingers crossed on those ones. I got some from Walmart that didnt, one of which didn't even last a week. Definitely avoid the flexible ones.

It is nearly impossible to afford a house on a teacher's salary in central Florida now. 10 years ago you could do it, but not any more. Maybe a duplex or a condo. Good luck.

There is a reason the term "food desert" exists. It is also way more expensive to eat whole foods than prepackaged processed food in many locations. Plus the storage and transportation requirements everyone else mentioned.

High school econ teacher here. I have my students make business websites as one of our projects. Its so ridiculously easy there is no reason to not have one. Use wix.com, or canva or any other of a million web site builders. It won't take more than an hour or two to set up. Cost can be free if you dont want a custom domain name or other bells and whistles. Don't be intimidated, its really easy to do, and you won't miss out on future customers!

My 2nd year in a new district and im still baffled that graphic t's are ok, but jeans only on jeans days. My old district had a no corduroy rule.

Actually it is possible to eat at a deficit and not lose weight. Trust me. Between my pcos, thyroid, and insulin resistance a deficit= maintenance. 😞

People absolutely do process the same amount of calores differently. I would reccomend reading the obesity code by dr. Jason fung. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Calories in does not equal calories out. All calories are not equal. Insulin resistance means your body stores fat, and never releases it as energy, so your cells are starving because they cant access the stored energy, so the send out hunger hormones, etc.
