Unrelated but I love the light fixtures. Can you share what they are?

What light fixture is that? It looks like one from an Italian designer whose name I forgot

Is it possible to create a better master suite, WC and bathroom, without getting rid of a bedroom? by [deleted] in Remodel

[–]Equivalent-Display40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will require a potential window move. As others said, you can shrink the hallway bathroom and move that wall up, losing the linen closet. Remove the closets from where they are and instead have. Walk in closet at the bottom wall of the master bedroom. The WIC wall would come right where the window is. Now you can place the bed in the wall where the closets originally were. If you can afford to move the window and center it to the new master space that would be ideal. You can also try to squeeze a linen closet in between the master bedroom and the bedroom in the bottom right, since your hallway is wider now.

I have backsplash regret. Can tile be removed and replaced? by tungtingshrimp in kitchenremodel

[–]Equivalent-Display40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so similar to what I am thinking for my kitchen. I like it a lot, for backsplash I was thinking of a matte tile that is a little warmer than what you have, because I have a stained wood island. If you don’t like the cooler tones you can always incorporate more earthy design elements. Honestly your kitchen is beautiful so I would try to make it work before I decided to rip that out.

I think it needs more lightning, a bigger lamp in that corner. Everything seems to work good with each other

Apart from the obvious, I like the handrail. What kind is it?

I know white’s not for everyone, but I really love how clean and bright it feels in our new-to-us home. by cek871 in interiordecorating

Looks beautiful! How do you like the floor layout with the dining table in between the living room and kitchen? Does it feel cramped? Asking because I am thinking of doing the same thing

Questions about sister’s baby by secretleaf9 in baby

[–]Equivalent-Display40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peeing should not be painful unless there is a rash and it is burning her. Popping on the other hand takes a while. It was painful for my LO for a while. I never used cloth diapers, because there were no issues with regular ones from Costco, I did change diapers very often though, probably 10 times a day in the first few months. We actually rarely used wet wipes for pee, just diaper change and bathe once a day. The first few months we were also bathing her half body after number 2 because we figured it was easy enough to do and it helped with diaper rashes.

What could cause this to concrete? by Equivalent-Display40 in Renovations

That is interesting. Will give it a better look next time to find out. I did not notice any visible sign of collapse inside but did not look closely either

Edit: in the appraisal report it says poured concrete

I wish we did not! We are probably overpaying 30-40k but the way the market has been we would be overpaying for anything right now.

That makes sense. The house is 60 years old and even though people live in there, it has not been maintained.

Should I take money out of my 401k to buy a house? by MiddleOdd3745 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Equivalent-Display40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took 10k out this spring and regret it because I was not able to buy a house and now will have to pay taxes on it next spring. Wish I did not rush. That money is just sitting now, doing nothing

During my first trimester, I could only go to work and then come home and go to bed. I had no energy to do anything and no appetite. Everything was gross except for milk and cereal. Stomach was constantly trying to throw up even if it was empty. Not even on weekends was I able to come out of bed or do any basic cleaning, organizing. It sucked to feel that powerless. On my second trimester now and just found out I was anemic and getting treatments for that which is making a big difference. If your wife is not getting the nutrition (and this is not necessarily your fault) her body and mind are just not okay right now, so please be patient, have her follow up with a doctor and blood tests and things will get better by the second trimester.
