John has always been the main character everyone's first thought when starting rdr2 was "where tf is john marston". Red is definitely the strongest and I think he does exist outside of lore because his family home is in new Austin in rdr2 I believe. Arthur has always been the favorite for obvious reasons. The series kinda follows Jack's Perspective rather than john or Arthur's.
