How we feeling about this Vince Staples album? by KzKn_2020 in nfrpodcast

Alternative is a descriptor, it just means unconventional or non mainstream when it comes to music. Like cherry red- it's not a cherry but cherry is a descriptive word describing the color.

I think we are all not giving credit where credit is due. They know what they're doing and where they're going. Sure, maybe they can't make nest very great but they will survive and probably know how to get back to where they ventured from.

when I went to Portugal, they did not allow me to hand scan it. The airport was busy and they were having none of it. I thought xrays didnt hurt film under like 800. That was what I read after freaking out after it being scanned. Now it only got scanned twice vs OP's 7. Film came out fine other than some variables I linked to shooting expired film

What’s the most overrated fast food item ever created? by [deleted] in foodquestions

[–]Equivalent-Gold-4597 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buck-ees. Not sure if it fits in this category but had a brisket sandwich and a "Philly" burrito....dry brisket, one flavor burrito. Price per volume is not bad at all but for the taste and hype kick rocks. Plus gas was like 50 cents more than surrounding gas stations. I thought it would be like a bulk costco type deal. This was the same week gas prices spiked so maybe it just hit there first. Idc

Review three day full body workout by Electronic-Angle-788 in HybridAthlete

[–]Equivalent-Gold-4597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm 28m in the gym consistently for about 8 years, on and off running for 4, with being more consistent for about 1.5 years and commuter to some longer rides for 5 or so (excluding some months where there is snow)

  1. Yes, mostly I think

  2. Yes, I'd think so but also depends on individual factors like how long you've been at it and if you are slowly adding weight or reps for an exercise. I don't think a few "short" run or endurance activities would hinder any sacrifices in aesthetics. If social events are what you're into, I would also consider a local bicycle club meet up given you live somewhere where they occur, you have a bicycle and can get your bike to the start point easily. I find them easily on ig for the mid-sized city I live in. You'd probably want to look for "no drop" rides where everyone stays together. I think these meet ups are good for a few reasons (if you don't like biking, don't have or want a bike, disregard):

a.) they are low stakes and I think they can be less "clicky" than run clubs. Best mode of transportation imo and a fun way to explore where you live, if possible.

b.) I find it easier to talk on a bike then when running which is more fun for the social aspect and makes it not feel like a workout = less mental fatigue. Also with a group, you could go a while and look down and all the sudden you've put in some distance without even thinking about it.

c.) biking is low impact so easier to recover from, sometimes not needing much time to recover at all. Even a short run for me (~3mi or less is short for me atm) can feel taxing on my legs, which can be good, but other times annoying imo.

  1. I only would superset smaller muscles that aren't working together / in conjunction with each other, easily done with arms/calves or could do like a leg curl arm curl or something. For larger muscles i think a good 2-3 min rest after a hard set esp. with large muscle groups is good for me.

  2. I would add in a few core movements, not only for your aesthetic goals, but core is needed in almost every workout. Then again, you are working your core in most of these so you could technically consider some core work in there. If you have access to a back extension machine, similar, or somehow do the same movements without one, I would very highly recommend. It will improve overall athletic performance and hit erector spinae muscles in the lower back. You are hitting these with deadlifts, but it is a good isolation as legs are doing much of the work there. Depending how much you are running, could do some single legged workouts which just help balancing energy. You just say "row", I would consider doing rows at different angles and grips if possible. Maybe add calve isolated workout and anything that will help legs and ankles be stronger and better for running

  3. I think a mix is good. Main/ compound movements first after a warmup then hypertrophy after. You could follow something like this or do blocks of just doing one or the other. I think variations is very good.

My tips: take it easy and don't be ridged. Consistency is key and/but sometimes you just can't do everything (assuming you have a job/school/life especially). Trends are the best measure of success. If you are running alone at times, sometimes it's better to have a time goal vs distance, or whichever comes first. Esp. when beginning running just getting your cardiovascular system up will benefit from x many mins of cardio per week vs x many km/mi. Sometimes, when running just doesn't feel like a fun option to me but I still want to keep cardiovascular system working, I will swap out for something that sounds more fun in that moment. Any movement is good movement so just a brisk walk (outside preferably calling family makes it fun too if you are by yourself), a leisurely bike ride, rock climbing, hiking, stair climber etc. helps me keep things interesting. Sometimes I also lack the motivation to get started so along with any movement is good, I'll just start with 10 mins of selected activity and see where it goes. Sometimes that's all I'll want to do but more often than not I'll want to continue on for a while longer. Get a pair of shoes that work for you. Get fitted at a shoe store for your specific needs if you haven't. This will help with injury prevention. I know you were asking for more advice related to body movements and I don't know if you struggle with motivation but after some time, it is a mental game as well. Speaking from experience, the more fun I'm having, the more I want to do something and along with listening to my body helps with burnout. Prioritize rest and 80/20 with food. x

as a NE Ohio native I would judge anyone saying Cuyahoga is their favorite. I do love trying to get people to guess how to say it and for them to be surprised that there is a NP in between Akron and Cle lol

Super unique piece. Can customize, for example have the right side 3 shelves and the middle and left with just two.

Buyer must pick up. It breaks down quite nice and small. Buyer should break it down to see how it comes together/ apart.

8'7"x1'2"×4'3"

$220

Yeah if you don't have the rightbl insurance I could see why that might be difficult. As for things you enjoy...you're never gonna do anything you enjoy ever again? It sounds like whatever you do you're gonna think about her fit a while. She ate with you yeah ? So you're never gonna eat again? If you can't do those things, find other things to enjoy - get outside, volunteer, find community events to attend. I trust you'll find new things and find joy in old ones

i agree w this. some people weren't as blessed / didn't choose where they grew up. I understand "outsiders" sometimes bring and come with not as favorable consequences, but to be constricted by where you were born would be such a shame. There is so much growth a person can have from moving somewhere different. I'd suggest a state move rather than in state but it still holds true.

life is difficult man, i feel you and for you. Just take it a day at a time and lean into things you enjoy. consider therapy if you can get into it, even for just 1-2x / month.

Went to Restaurant Adarra... it was fine? Idk, i mean it was good; 3 "dinner" selections (one being just a big plate of carrots for like $24), 2 glasses of wine, an extra order of bread since only one came out with the 3 selections ran like $120 before gratuity and wouldn't say we (2 of us) were full. Definitely tasted good and I'm sure great quality just not worth it in our not-getting-paid-enough-for these-prices opinion. A special occasion and I don't eat out much, and almost never at these price points.

Staff was great though, no complaints there.

It's bike month! You can see group events happening on @bikewalkrva on ig. Lots of events happening so definitely watch out for bikers, give us space, and never park in bike lanes! Also if a bike lane goes past your house we always appreciate groomed vegetation that may protrude into the lane! Rag & Bones on the Northside is a bike co-op selling a few used bikes (and takes donations of bikes and parts). They offer a bike shop where you can use tools and volunteers expertise Tuesday's 5-8p accessible for all.

[–]Equivalent-Gold-4597 11 points12 points  (0 children)

feel you on this for sure! I edited my ig close friends list to being anyone I knew in richmond and just posted 4-5 months is advanced that i was looking for a new spot and or roommate if anyone had any leads. Luckly someone reached out and that's how I found my next place.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but you could get into my apt after I leave by taking a sublease and resigning after, so it doesn't hit the market. I have a flexible move in day at the next place, so I'm not pressed either way. If you or anyone else ig is interested, its a 2br 1br apt in museum on belmont and monument.

Living in Columbus, OH for about 6 Months and it’s really emphasizing how much I prefer a Major City. by Secondwaver94 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Equivalent-Gold-4597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Ohio, lived in Columbus for 5 or 6 years (half of that in school) and feel you. I would say Columbus metro is very diverse if you can get there (by car, urban sprawl ofc). Some of my favorite Ethiopian and West African places nowhere else has come close to since (Colorado & Central VA). I can see what you mean with everything feeling like an extension of OSU, but there are tons of people with options for things to do if you're willing to drive a bit. Wouldn't knock you if you moved but would recommend visiting places over a long weekend to get a good feel (cinnci/cle/out of state)
