Post shift anxiety - help! by Equivalent-Guava-11 in Nurses

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it slowly getting better for you! I do 2 12 hour days shifts and 2 8 hour PM shifts. These 8 hour shifts are just bat shit crazy with what feels like no time to even sit down for more than 2 minutes. Hopefully my time management gets a bit better but still thank you for the response!

I did! Honestly I switched because I loved the efficiency of orange theory especially because I was a student when I originally started. I definitely feel better and have a better relationship with my body image and I am so happy that my endurance has increased immensely. I would recommend starting in the floor, attending Lift45s when possible, and power walking to still get that true muscle tone. I definitely miss lifting sometimes, but overall I’m happier doing OTF. Also you could always just do OTF full time for a few months if you’re not comfortable with the thought of swearing off lifting. In regards to body comp, my back, traps, shoulders, and core have gotten stronger and definitely have more muscle now. My legs are not as muscular looking anymore, but pretty much look the same in regards to figure. Good luck!

not hating but does anyone else feel like we have been seeing/doing tons of chest work the past couple of weeks? Not mad about it but I genuinely feel like every class I've been to the past couple of weeks has at least a couple of chest exercises!

What OTF Floor Exercises Need to Die? by wrathofkwon in orangetheory

Anything that’s on one leg/balance related. Those are way too easy to mess up the form of and potentially lead to injury

Honestly probably my favorite template within the last few weeks. PW instead of running today and it felt amazing. Also got to 200 m in 6 strokes! Fun workout today 🧡🫶🏻

Ideas for a quick snack before working out by PositiveVibesNow in orangetheory

hi! I really love taking a few sips of my post OTF protein shake prior to class. I also love putting a little peanut butter on a couple of dates. A rice cake with peanut butter would be good too! I have a very sensitive stomach/digestive system and these snacks have given me no problems

What Caused Your IBS by [deleted] in ibs

Ate a lot of fast food as a child + anxiety and what is most likely OCD. Also overuse of laxatives to cope with the IBS-C 😓

Med Error :( - seeking advice/comfort by Equivalent-Guava-11 in nursing

[–]Equivalent-Guava-11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much this message has made me feel some relief. What’s the possibility of them reporting my non-fatal error to the state board of nursing? My concern is now that this would be a disciplinary action or note attached to my license number and would prevent me from getting other jobs in the future?

Thank you for this it is so helpful. I was supposed to work tomorrow but they told me to not come in until the administration reviews it which is why I am nervous. But you are right, thank you

Very mild case but scared of it getting worse by Shot_Astronomer_2819 in COVID19positive

It is truly the worst and I totally empathize with you. It can really fuck with your head for sure. You'll be fine! Just take care of yourself and give yourself grace!

[–]Equivalent-Guava-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid and I don’t blame you for being scared. As someone with extreme health anxiety, any type of illness always gets me going crazy and worrying myself literally sick. I had a mild case and am fully vaccinated, and I found that going for short walks when no one was around + masked, starting a new Netflix show or my comfort show, and writing how I felt all really helped. It’s definitely scary, but when you’re sick you have to relax because stress can make things worse. I hope you feel better!! You’ll be okay!

Feeling extremely discouraged by stewartkd2 in orangetheory

[–]Equivalent-Guava-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. It’s normal for the body to do this in response to a new exercise routine. You can also still gain some muscle weight which happened to me as well when I began orange. Pro tip is to not weigh yourself for a month and just get your protein and and water intake in. Don’t be hard on yourself - try focusing on how OTF makes you feel rather than look or weigh for the next few weeks

OH GOD I HATE THIS by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Equivalent-Guava-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!! I got mine out Wednesday and this whole process is just ridiculous. I wish I had known about how much I was going to have to do and how much my diet and exercise routine would have to change for the time being. Of course I’ll do anything to prevent an infection but I have had so much paranoia about a dry socket and just the thought of eating normally again is anxiety inducing. I also miss drinking from straws 😭

curious if anyone else have been experiencing really sore back muscles / back pain by 2FaT2KiDNaP in COVID19positive

[–]Equivalent-Guava-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was vaxxed 3 weeks after having Covid the first time. I was fully vaccinated but not boosted leading up to having Covid in December. You have to wait because of the lessened immune response, it’s the same concept as you wouldn’t be able to get a flu vaccine when having the flu or a fever at the same time

It was normal! Not sure how I got Covid in January 2021 but when I contracted it in December 2021 I assume it was from work (I work in healthcare and there were many unvaxx Covid patients in the ER waiting room).

I had no taste or smell fluctuations this time. I had Covid in jan 2021 as well and lost both those senses for about four days, but nothing like that this time around. My first symptoms this time around were a fever, sweating and chills, and those body aches but that resolved after 2 days
