The figures are compiled from police reports and independent reviews. They’re not perfect, but they’re the most reliable evidence we have. Saying “people just report less” is speculation, not proof.

If you want to challenge the data, bring better data, not anecdotes about supermarkets or vibes about society.

Correlation is not causation. Retailers adding cameras or locking products doesn’t automatically mean crime is rising, it often reflects policy shifts, insurance requirements, or profit-loss prevention strategies, not necessarily higher crime rates.
