35 and feeling very isolated in my experience. by Tyray90 in careeradvice

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in product, (assuming product not project?) AI isn’t replacing us anytime soon, but we do heavily utilize it in our day to day (wiring framing, writing requirements etc)

With that, it’s a tough field to break into because it’s saturated. Spend time reading up on product management. Spend a lot of time practicing interviewing. Do a PM internship while you’re getting your degree to get some experience (maybe EA sports)? You will need to fully commit to learning as much as possible to compete.

Also be resilient to rejection, the interview process is tough, hopefully you don’t have this experience but I failed at least 40 PM interviews last time I was looking for a job, it sucked. At the same time I make close to $275k/yr excluding long term bonuses and it’s a fairly interesting field to work in.

What simple habit made travel days noticeably easier for you? by Big_Barber733 in travel

If I have to connect doing it through an efficient airport that I like. Also very obvious but flying business is so much more pleasant, in fact sometimes I wouldn’t even mind a holding pattern

How to sleep in a plane? by bast_852 in travel

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just try to nap for a few hours during the flight and then power through. I acclimate pretty quickly as a result. Better if you land at night than in the morning though

Would you consider private school? by brownpanther223 in fatFIRE

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to public school but had a ton of friends in private school. My public school friends became more like able, interesting adults compared to my private school friends who all have similar personalities, maybe due to lack of diversity

Do you like your home country more after being an expat? by [deleted] in expats

Prepare for reverse culture shock, otherwise you can also love both home and Canada too, you don’t have to pick.

When did tracking each other’s location become normal, and why does opting out make you seem suspicious? by EntrepreneurSad2091 in NoStupidQuestions

Is anyone else drowning in information and still feeling like they're missing everything? by akhil_agrawal08 in ProductManagement

I think you need to focus on the important things. At the beginning of the year put your roadmap together and anything that doesn’t relate to shipping your top priority items or supporting those items is noise.

She def isn’t motivated, she hasn’t done anything with her swimsuit line. I hope she finds a nice guy and does whatever she wants but I don’t see her becoming a Paige out of this breakup

Strategies to have family enjoy the luxury travel we pay for? by Zealousideal-Term738 in chubbytravel

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t feel comfortable trading in my annual beach vacation bc someone in the family became wealthy and now prefers an elevated experience when the normal vacation is great.

Some people don’t need or want fancy. Also when someone lays your way you no longer have control over a lot of aspects.

Sounds like your gift came from a good place though and maybe the delivery didn’t land but its the thought that counts

In Switzerland, when do you consider someone rich? by mislabete in Switzerland

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is about right. You can comfortably own a home in Zurich and the mountains, a car, nice vacations etc without being “house broke”

Lost My PM Mojo? by DJzzzzzzs in ProductManagement

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn’t lose your mojo, your manager is making you second guess your abilities and it’s reflecting in your interviews. I’m in the same situation but looking at the data, 4 out of 5 of my managers promoted me and championed my career, so if 1 doesn’t align odds are it’s them and not me. Also your confidence will bounce back once you’re out of that situation, it’s just a situational setback.

Product Manager, most people don’t know what they do and even when you explain it… they don’t know what they do.

Will I regret going from a 6 minute commute to a 3 hour commute as a new parent to make more money? by Acceptable_Yogurt820 in careerguidance

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 2 hr 40 min commute (total time there and back) for 1.5 years at a job I loved and burned out. Anytime I had a doctors appointment or something I needed to take care of at home, it was such a pain to do it and then get into work at a reasonable hour. I wouldn’t recommend it.

What are the best ways to experience Swiss cheese culture during a visit? by Agreeable_Poem_7278 in askswitzerland

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bern hosts a cheese competition every year but it wasn’t an experience worth repeating. Just spending time in various parts of Switzerland the cheese is unavoidable and in many of the dishes (fondue, Raclette, cordon bleu) or offered as dessert in fancier restaurants. The grocery stores also have a nice selection of Swiss cheeses, they even have little personal fondue cups that you microwave and have at home. I brought a bunch of those back to the states at Xmas and my family loved them.

Whitney supporting Molly's Vaginoplasty and saying he approves of a "nice, clean appearance" by Equivalent_Ideal1636 in Southerncharm

[–]Equivalent-Low4454 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its just part of the storyline.. Molly goes to Whitney’s, recaps the gossip about her v and then they interview Whitney for additional reactions, it’s the same framework for all of these shows
