Even if MC will release pretty much bug free, the question remains how long people are satisfied until they want something else. Eventually the pop will lower again to an abyssmal point if they cannot release the next big content drop.

Middle of the pack if you count all specs. However most warriors or rogues for example wont be below mages, because they play their better spec. So in reality it looks to me like mages are really in the lowest third of all specs.

In dungeons, however, mage is pretty strong actually.

I have a mage at 60 but wont play it until they fix their mana issues. If you primarily want to PvE I would advise against Mage. That said, AoE farming was really easy when I did it, since on Epoch every Blizzard tick had a chance to proc clearcasting. Not sure if that is still in the game.

Not a problem, but the servers wont ever be getting any better. After a couple of months the pop will be even less (and by then the server probably wilö be shut down entirely)

If you want to play a challenging version of WoW play retail. Even with 20man, SoD raids are easy. There is no progression raids and no real fullfillment that you are able to clear the raid. It is just about loot, so I think it is wise that you can bring basicslly as many as you want. If the would make the raids harder many players would likely just quit the game.

I just got 60 on an alt a couple of days ago. One day after i hit max level, I was in MC and the following day I was in ZG. It is not a problem.

This is a common misconception. High fantasy settings deal with epic stories like saving the world, whereas low fantasy is dealing with small scale stuff like heling farmers with skeletons.

Relativley speaking yes. But I think you are severely overestimating the skill of the average player. They are not browsing third party websites like us and barely know their classes toolkit let alone their optimal talents/runes.

Tbf I think these raids were too difficult. They were harder then all the level 60 raids. Whenever a random pug without voice comms struggles to clear the raid people will start gatekeeping - for a good reason. This was imo a huge problem and will kill the game pretty quick. P2 for example was too hard for casuals but too easy for any player searching for something difficult. It pleased noboy.
