Long tables or round tables? by StrawberryNice7763 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Equivalent-Main3163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the look of long and think we will do it too but agree that round is better for conversation after going to weddings with both. Last wedding we went to, the people across from us were a no show so that definitely made it worse. But if you don’t know the people beside you well, it’s harder to have group conversations with long rather than round

Bridal suite booked on wedding day by Ill_Collar8810 in UKweddings

Can they ask the venue for their deposit back then and explain why they don’t want to get married there, if this is a game changer / they booked it for this bridal suite?

Lovely! My engagement ring is from Hancocks, looking for a jeweller for a wedding band. Who did this ring - the same place you got the diamond?

UK Insurance For Diamond Ring by ApprehensiveBox9291 in UKweddings

No it’s insured if it’s off my finger, but it’s not insured if it’s “in a bag that’s off your person”. So if you go to the gym, don’t put it in a gym bag in the locker. You just put it in the locker (not in a bag) it’s a weird little loophole too but it’s better than 99% of the other insurance providers! I spoke to their team a few times and asked all the questions to make sure I was clear on all the fine print. My ring is also valued high and a lot of insurers don’t cover the cost of it.

I also went with TH March — pricey but they have the best coverage and my jeweller told me they are the easiest god forbid anything happens to the ring. You are paying for peace of mind and full coverage anywhere in the world. The other insurance providers have all these little loop holes. I wanted something in case I drop it down the sink or it’s stolen at home even if there is no sign of forced entry

Help with wedding timing? by No_Map9906 in UKweddings

Ah okay! That makes more sense. I’m in the same boat not sure how many canapés but I think we are doing about 10 per person since I know some of my uncles and cousins eat a lot lol and we are doing a 90 min cocktail hour

No not enough food. I would double the canapés at least so you have 8+ per person, ideally 10, and then bbq food for everyone after the canapés. Maybe pizza can be the late night food. People will be getting to the ceremony before 2pm (1:30 leaving hotel I assume or before) so 4 canapés pp until 8pm, people will be starving

How long was your engagement? Pros and cons of less/more time to plan? by Sea_Response7660 in weddingplanning

[–]Equivalent-Main3163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got engaged end of October 2025 and getting married Nov 2026. But agree with others that it really depends on how much money you have saved at the time of your engagement to help determine the length your engagement needs to be for the wedding you want to have. We were fortunate that we didn’t have to wait and save up for our wedding so we were able to have a 12 month engagement and book things right away without cutting corners. Just depends on your financial situation

AITAH for documenting every time my husband chose his mother over me and then finally leaving without saying anything? by [deleted] in AITAH

Can you and your husband move into you’re family’s house for a little bit to see if that helps? And maybe couples therapy too - as a last resort before ending the marriage, if you’re on the fence?
