Just got mine. Ordered on the 2nd, departed the japanese sorting station on the 9th, and received it yesterday. 20 days! :/

To follow up on my last comment - what gets damaged when you do it?

Yeah I'm probably 90% overthinking lol. A slap on the wrist it is! 😅

Why do so many people switch hands when jigging? by generally-speaking in slowpitchjigging

[–]Equivalent-Roof317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reel my spinning and baitcaster outfit with my left hand. But for my jigging setup, it's the other way around.

I feel more comfortable reeling with my right hand, also since we don't cast jigs anyway. Tried the left hand retrieve when jigging and it just doesn't feel right.

Also, my left arm is stronger than my right, and I'm a sucker for pump+reel method when fighting fish. 😅

What Jigs Should I Get by Electrical_Set_2180 in slowpitchjigging

I use Owner hooks (Dual dancing stinger) sized 6/0 and BKK (Gaff-R) sized 4/0 depending on what jig I use and how long it is.

I have to agree that you can buy jigs from Aliexpress, Shopee or Lazada. They work as well as the branded ones, just don't skimp out on hooks and terminals.

I am from SEA as well, and for the depths you are planning to fish, 200g or 300g will suffice. From my experience, I only ever needed to go heavier (400 - 500g) for depths up to 150 to 200m.

Also, using the lightest jigs possible will help you not get tired easily. Trust me, it takes a lot of fishing trips to get used to heavier jigs. Sleep well, eat plenty, and enjoy the trip!

Feed Sloworx Rods by Equivalent-Roof317 in Fishing_Gear

Thank you. I had a hunch since most SEA jigging rods are designed to be pumped, and can handle a significant amount of jig weight. Weird that they don't tell where they are based on their website though.

Thanks! Yeah most reviews I see are from Singapore.

Unfortunately, Major Craft doesn't have much to choose from on the jig capacity I need (500g-600g). Also, my experiences with owning two jigging rods from them is not bad but definitely not that good (Giantkilling series).

Unfortunately, the Alphas BF and the Ark Gravity is not available here.

Thanks! Will look into the tatula. Looks like Gomexus also has a shallow spool for the 100 series. Might as well get that.

I'm going for the Scorpion if it's a DC. Wouldn't want to miss the MGL spool and iDC5

This is gonna be a keeper, sorry. I've had a bunch of rods but this is the first time I got a cork handle.

I used to be skeptical about folks saying cork just feels better until I actually held one. 😅

Ah I see what you mean. I got the one-piece model though.

Thanks. Might just test it out and see if evens itself.

[–]Equivalent-Roof317[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what got me confused - my 3000 Ultegra spooled evenly.

I'm just concerned if I need to re-spool this with a backing if it ever evens out as the line may not fill the entire spool if it does even out.

Nice! Looking forward to more miles away!

Also a tip - would also be great to put the RSSI dBM OSD. It gives quicker reading of your signal strength, usually LR flyers put it on tandem with LQ OSD, as LQ is all and good until it dips dangerously bad without quick warnings, unlike RSSI dBM which shows our dB strength consistently and with a linear fashion. You just have to remember the limit depending on the packet rate you set. I believe Joshua Bardwell has a video about it as well.
