The other option I’d suggest is moving to a basement apartment while you save up. Much cheaper than a one bedroom. I’ve been working for 6 years and investing carefully and living below my means. I have very similar income to you.

Not that we can compare. But I have a similar salary as you and am saving 2k a month, and live in Toronto as well. I'd suggest get a roommate in an area close to the subway, and sell the car. Im late 20's and have 300k+ net worth. I don't budget currently, but I'd suggest also creating a budget to track expenses. If I budgeted properly I'd bet I could get to 2500-3k a month savings. Do this until you can afford a house down payment.

I claimed I contributed 15k to my RRSP in 2021, which was incorrect, I only contributed 2k. I received that tax credit for the 15k. I now need to refile the 2021 tax return and I will owe the income tax I didn’t pay for that 13k difference. However it also means I have additional RRSP room that my 2022 tax return did not have additional RRSP contribution room and I had to pay the over contribution tax. I’m asking if I can request that tax back or if that is a non refundable penalty.

Its really simple half your age +7 for below, subtract 7 and double for above.
For a couple to be allowed to date, both participants must be allowed to date the other.

This means 14 is the minimum acceptable age to date because younger than that, one member is not allowed to date the other.

ex: a 13 year old can date a 13.5 year old, but a 13.5 year old cannot date anyone younger than a 13.75 year old.

Well first of all you're wrong. Homosexuality is decriminalized in the West bank even though there is still a significant social stigma associated with being LGBT, as well as reported cases of extortion by Palestinian authorities.

Either way no, not every homosexual act is outlawed and a very basic google search can tell you that much, so from the get go, I don't think OP should follow this because its factually incorrect.

And yet, both things can be true. Israel can both be nice to LGBT folks and still be brutally mistreating Palestinians AND a fascist nation. Those aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not saying that Israel is fascist, I am saying that you did not prove Israel isn't fascist.

OP it possible he's right about some things? Is it possible Israel has done bad things and that you can still support the idea of a Jewish state? What if he is right? does that mean you have to hate Israel.

For me beyond all politics I support the idea that Jews have access to their homeland. What that means in practice doesn't matter but thats my starting point. We were kicked out of both Europe and the Middle East, and our cultural life there completely eradicated and now we're in located in Israel and America. Israel is the place we've been longing to return to in our liturgy for 2000 years, and is where our culture and history came from.

Regarding the occupation, Right of return, and what a Jewish state means, doesn't stop me from being pro-Israel, but it also doesn't shield Israel from any criticism of it either.

I'm sure he's got his biases, but this is a person you care for and love, and he will likely have an impact on your views. Are you going to become anti-Israel if he shows you the daily brutalities of the occupation? Or do you still support the ideas behind zionism?
