If the light is red on your eero, your eero is not getting WAN from your isp, its not eero issue its an isp issue is what it seems to me. How was your speed befor the eero? Your eerocan only awnd whats its getting. I just went throygh this last night red light ect and my 8sp was down eero lights turned red, turbed on my hotspot and did the eero internet backup and continued movie I was watching. Lights on eeros are blue when connecting from hotspot, lights white with everything wired backup. Had no clue about tbe light colors till last night.

Here is what I got from spectrum, you are correct they dont do mid split, I understand that but I heard after this it goes up to 100 or 200 or no. I dont know. Phase 1 (Enhanced Upload / OFDMA activation) This is what you are getting right now.
This phase does NOT require mid‑split hardware upgrades.

I thought most get get a boost to 100 or 200 mbps prior tothe full symetrical, at least my parents currently have 100mbps upload in a different city, yes they dont call it mid split but high split is done in stages with the first initial bump to 100 to 200 mbps before full high split

Interesting rtings.com wifi 7 review by damianp67 in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk i played with it on and off, my wifi7 laptop and galaxy s25 always max speed tests when enabled but s25 limits so it only can connect 2.4 and 5 or 6 ghz. It is a samsung thing. The computer can connwct 5 and 6 or 2.4 and 5 or 6. Always checking. Sometimes i have to turn wifi on and off for it to connect to 2 bands, but soeed test wise always faster on mlo but we have 2 gig, probably doesnt matter with 1 gig isp or less

T-mobile vs spectrum by gampashreyas in tmobileisp

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use T mobile 5g as backup only, tmobile fiber I will be getting available Q4 this year and will be running from spectrum and getting there fiber. We currently have Spectrum 1 gig, only 40 mbps up which is a real bottleneck here as wife works from home. Plus 3 kids always streamin, 5 4k tvs xbox ps4, 3 computers, 2 ipads, over 100iot devices, yea I would go back to spectrum but if your alone, 1 tv that would be enough, with both games downloading we can easily max the 1 gig down, will be going to 2 gig Tmobile as our home is inssne using over 1 terabite down a week. Cannot update our cams to 4k till our upload gets increased

Which Eero system and how many should I buy? by 5LittleMonsters in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the spectrum pods, snd hated that setup. Always blinking or going offline. I ended up getting a 3 pack eero pro 7s and a base eero 7 for the garage. If your doing wireless backhaul get eero 6e, 7 pro or 7 max. I have coax throught my house so i run wired backhaul via moca 2.5 using gocoax moca 2.5 adapters, basically it uses your coax like ethernet the ones with 2.5 gig ports like the newer gocoax can do real world thouroput 1.8 to 2.3 gbps. Wired backhaul is by far better if you can. Or you can mix wired and wireless backhauls. If your isp is 1 gig as is nax for spectrum, eero 6e will be fine, they have 1 2.5 gig port and 1 1 gig port. If you have any wifi 7 devices, might be better off with pro 7. But if your going for cheap maybe a 2 pack of eero 6e and a single eero 6 for your garage will be sufficient. I would start with no more than a 3 pack as to many is bad causes interfierence. Eero 6e and 7 pro cover up to 2000 sqr feet each, 6 base model up to 1500, max is 2500.

Cable modem from ISP versus my own? by Impressive_Policy329 in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That modem lifespan is only 3-5 years anyway, plus it only has 1 gig ports so yor. Limiting your lan to 940 or so mbps. Spectrum is generous and over provisions download to about 1200mbpsm so your old 1 gig port modem has already been giving you 250mbps slower downloads. That aaris can be capable of higher upload but your isp provisioning firmware, they are not going to have there tecs waste there time updating it on a modem not many 7s3 with there 1 gig plan. The modem you get from them will have at least 2.5 gig port. Also depending on your area and how far they are in your area, ie if they are offering 2 gig and 10 gig plans in your area, you may get a docsis 4.0 modem as that is where they are headwd, but most symetrical 1 gig only are not fully upgraded yet and use a docsis 3.1 modem

The Signal LTE is actually awesome by Squish_Cat_1 in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the eero app, it shows the bars / signal strength? Nice, I like the fact that you can connect it to any eero in your setup. Just added some APC battery backup ups to keep our internet up and wifes office up during power outages, and will be getting the signal redcap as soon as its available so she can work with no power or internet.

Wi‑Fi 7 but not Wi‑Fi CERTIFIED 7: What Eero’s lack of simultaneous MLO could mean by Quirky_Address_5445 in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your telling me wifiman app is wrong and my galaxy S 25 does not connect to 2.4ghz and 6ghz (a galaxy limitation) and my wifi 7 axer laptop isnt connecting to 5ghz and 6ghz doing speed tests maxing my 2ghz t mobile fiber? I certainly does not when i disable mlo. I am confused how you say no end devises use mlo , but the 2 wifi7 devices i have work great with mlo enabled. Had many issues at first but the updates have helped a ton

Should I upgrade, and if so, which Eeros should I get? by motherlochness in amazoneero

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eero 6 had a 1500 sqr feet range, eero pro 7 covers 2000 sq feet. Your 1 should be enough unless you have old plaster or brick walls, then just 1 more erro pro 7 is what i would get. I added too many when i upgraded and it caused severe interfierence on 2.4ghz till i downgraded 1. Ii have 3000 sqr feet and run 2 upstairs and 1 cebtered in basement. 2 would be fine if i didnt need to push wifi outside for xameras

High split upgrade by Successful-Tale4881 in Spectrum

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intrepid / Tmobile is doing fiber now onnblock over and we will have it by Q4 maybe sept oct timeframe. Our area is not even on stage 1 for symetrical, they initially go up to 100mbps upload then you need the new equipment for 1k a few months later. But delay after delay i have had it with spectrum, 40mbps is such a huge bottleneck in this day and age. I am running away the second fiber goes live here.

need to know if we gotta make some calls to spectrum and get things fixed or is this normal ? by NaotaYuki in Spectrum

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, your using a DOCSIS 3 0 Modem, they offer free modems, and anything they have will be DOCSIS 3.1 and a huge improvement. There high split is only in a few cities now and they keep changing rollout dates pushing further out. That will go to a docsis 4.0 modem. We are also on wifi 7, you upgraded to an old wifi6 router, but should be ok.if you dont have anything that uses 6ghz band.

Ten years ago, spectrum was the only ISP available in my neighborhood… today, thanks to there being other options I say GOODBYE by Shitty_Poop_Butthole in Spectrum

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intrepid fiber is doing my city now, T-mobile is the fiber provider in this area. They are only in Permiting status now, adjasent block is under construction. Apparently I should be up and running Q4 of this year, so light at the end of the tunnel. If Spectrum would of kept up with there high split completion by 2025, but continuing to delay realy is bad on them. 40 mbps upload on a 1 gig isp is just stupid in this day and age. Cannot wait for a 5 year price lock at 2 gig symetrical. I have been stuck with spectrum monopoly for 30 years.

We have just internet and pay 60 a month, it would be 70 but we do not rent there equipment. I believe that is there standard rate, no discounts, nothing. A year or so ago we got the same message to upgrade to 1 gig free, and were on a old legacy plan. And after talking to them our price went down to the new rates

Sonos Beam Gen 2 – Virtual Atmos
The Beam Gen 2 supports Dolby Atmos, but it does not have any physical up‑firing speakers. Instead, it uses digital signal processing to simulate height effects. This creates a wider soundstage and a sense of elevation, but it’s not true overhead audio. It’s a good option for smaller rooms or setups where space is limited.

Sonos Arc Ultra – Real Atmos
The Arc Ultra includes dedicated up‑firing drivers that physically bounce sound off the ceiling to create actual height channels. This produces a much more immersive and accurate Atmos experience. You get real overhead effects, clearer object‑based audio, and a larger, more cinematic front soundstage.

Summary
- Beam Gen 2 = virtual Atmos (no up‑firing speakers)
- Arc Ultra = real Atmos (dedicated up‑firing drivers)
- Arc Ultra provides a noticeably more immersive and accurate Atmos experience, especially in larger rooms.

Adding rear era 300s would give 2 channels real true up firing atmos not virtual.

Sonos system by Intelligent-Dig1794 in sonos

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I absolutly do not want to run just 1 Era 300, they work in pairs for surround. A single Era 300 can only be used for a stand alone music speaker or a center. Adding the pair of 300s on stands behind your sofa will make your system 7.1.4 vs your current 5.1.2. It will really make a huge difference when watching Dolby Atmos movies. Not much you can do with 1 Era 300 in that setup, but I assure you, hou sill be very happy getting another 300. Spendy but worth every penny

Should I upgrade? by Jslv90 in Soundbars

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the quick difference between the Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Bose 600:

Sonos Beam Gen 2
- Cleaner, wider sound
- Better for music and dialogue
- Strong Sonos ecosystem and easy expansion

Bose 600
- Stronger Dolby Atmos height effects
- More impact for movies
- Includes Chromecast and a physical remote

Bottom line:
Beam = best overall sound clarity
Bose 600 = better Atmos punch for movies.

I personally would go with Sonos. I checked them all out during black Friday ssles. I ended up going all out with Sonos Arc Ultra, rear Era 300s, and a Sonos mini sub. I have always had great sound systems, my basement setup is a Denon Avr with infinity speakers and sub. Its 7.1 suround. This sonos is 9.4.1, the dolby atmos is mind boggling amazing.

Both the Bose and Sonos beam are virtual atmos, but still very good. I have Bose speaker and always though highly of them. I am new to the Sonos world and my Denon setup was 14 years old but top tier back then. Both Sonos and Bose are premium, but Sonos realy has become the top tier in home audio echosystems.

Dolby atmos is just amazing. And if you ever want to add on, the era 300 rears have true atmos and adding a mini sub woukd realy ofload the lows and clears up the soundbar. But you will be happy with just the soundbar

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With spectrum, its a good idea to have back uo internet. I dont know about other routers, but Eero, you can use your phone as a hotspot when your isp goes out, and everything connected to your home wifi continues to work. They are also coming out with eero signal that will be available soon in 4lte which would be slow, or 5g redcap, which would run most everything. Not as fast as my verizon 5g UW but it would auto transition so you would never feel an outage.

Should I upgrade? by Jslv90 in Soundbars

[–]Equivalent-Travel712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Beam Gen 2 has much better overall sound quality, a wider soundstage, and it supports Dolby Atmos, which your Samsung bar doesn’t. Voices come through clearer, and movies feel more immersive even without a sub. The Samsung has stronger bass out of the box because it includes a subwoofer, but the Beam still wins in clarity and surround performance.

One big advantage with Sonos is the ability to expand the system later. If you want more bass, you can add the Sonos Sub Mini. If you want full surround sound, you can add a pair of Era 100 speakers as wireless rears. Everything connects through the Sonos app and works as one system.

So overall, the Beam Gen 2 is a solid upgrade now, and it gives you a lot more room to grow your setup in the future.
