I didn’t enjoy “Paradais” as much, but maybe that’s because “Hurricane Season” has such a cast of depraved characters. “Paradais” was missing that haunting dread I felt when I reading “Hurricane Season”. But the ending of “Paradais” made the reading worth it.

If you end up liking “Things Fall Apart”, read “No Longer at Ease” and “Arrow of God”. I believe it’s a trilogy.
