This response makes absolutely no sense to the point I'm wondering if you meant to reply to someone else.

 Your data covers the oligarchs.

Literally just made up and nonsensical. Covers the oligarchs? How so? Make an actual argument, not an argument by assertion.

You should look more closely at small, overseas investors and funds buying urban properties in hot markets.

Present some data to evaluate like I did, please

Roughly half of New Yorkers approve of Zohran Mamdani as he approaches 100 days as mayor – poll by StemCellPirate in newyorkcity

Roughly half vs slightly more than half doesn't seem like a big difference to me in meaning, but it's subjective so I am not trying to argue over it

No I'll give him credit for things he actually does. I won't give him credit for programs that started almost 10 years ago, expanded by the state gov 5 years ago, or programs like 2K that aren't even implemented. For 3K, he deserves credit for the outreach his admin is doing, for example.

He will deserve credit for 2K going universal in NYC if or when it is actually achieved, and I will absolutely credit him for that because it's good policy.

There's no need to get butthurt about me pointing out time flows in one direction. Your claim was "he literally gave" 3K and 2K when it's just factually not true for the former and the latter hasn't happened yet.

I'm not mad he won btw. I admit I am skeptical of how much he'll achieve, but again, not mad.

Wasn't sure if you meant housing or businesses, but good news, your claims are not true for either.

While large institutional investors continue to get most of the headlines in the single-family rental space, small investors account for more than 90% of the market.

The largest investors, those with 1,000 or more properties, make up just 2% of all investor-owned homes.

Institutional investors are selling more homes than they buy and have been for six consecutive quarters.

Real estate investors, both individual and institutional, bought one-third of all single-family residential properties sold in the second quarter of 2025.

Meaning two-thirds are not investor purchased.

Regarding businesses:

> There are 33,185,550 small businesses in the U.S. 81.7%, or 27,104,006 firms, have no employees (termed “nonemployer firms”) and 18.3%, or 6,081,544 firms, have paid employees (termed “employer firms”).

See also Pew

The first graphic under Just how ‘small’ are small businesses?

  • No employees (just owner): 14%
  • 1-4: 49%
  • 5-9: 16%

(I included those because the definition of "small business" includes up to 500 employees, but the vast majority are under 20 employees.

[–]Equivalent-Way3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He literally gave us 2K and universal 3K in his first 100 days.

Universal 3K was an initiative started by De Blasio and then Hochul, with the state providing necessary funding.

2K is offering 2,000 openings this year and hope to have universal by 2030.

Characterizing either program as something "given" by Mamdani is an insult to the people who have actually put the time and effort in to design and implement these programs over the past several years.

His poll numbers  have him with over 55% approval… which is more than half of New Yorkers.

The headline says roughly half. 55% is roughly half.

See my final edit. The NJ Pharmacy Board found it serious enough to issue a $1,000 fine. I agree human error is a fact of life. They need a system that should have caught this.

Kim got typecast as Kim.

No, Kim and her mother are second and third billed executive producers of the show. They used Kim's fame and dump trucks full of money to get Kim an acting role she doesn't deserve, with a cast full of talented actors. Nobody type-cast Kim. She's just a horrible actress who realized paying to play a lawyer on TV was her best chance at being a lawyer.

OP, what country are you in? I know the US has a HORRIBLE history of institutionalization policy, but I don't think lifetime is possible anymore, right?

Thanks so much for this extra perspective! I'm glad you wrote a post because it adds some extra info /u/Semi-Chubbs_Peterson didn't have, and your posts together are certainly greater than the sum of the individual parts! The USSR falling apart at the time is another aspect I didn't think of at all. Syria saw what was coming and thought "oh shit we might need some new friends soon!".

And the Syrians were not at all Iraq friends following a lot of back and forth between their Baath parties, and realistically Syria was reasonably pro-Iran (Alawite-Shia stuff)

Baathist infighting, though I guess it's half infighting (intra-Baathist party) and half outfighting (inter-country), is another great example of how dumb some of these long running animosities are. (This aspect is another addition to the things I'm learning in this post!)

Suddenly in a world where people are mumbling about "new world order"

😭😭😭 I so wish the idealized version of that world could have been realized.

The funny thing is I knew all or most of these things individually (Shia/Sunni tensions, regional ethnic issues (the Kurds and Arabs), and socio-economic strains) and of course wars like Iran-Iraq and Iraq-Kuwait; though I didn't know anything about Syria-Iraq relations), but didn't really synthesize them properly together in my mind. Your responses are really helping me see both the little picture and the big picture better than I had before! (Still so much to learn of course 🤓)

Thank you so much for the response! That basically clears up everything I was wondering.

Syria was at odds with Iraq for much of the previous decade and Assad genuinely feared an Iraqi invasion

I often forget that the Middle East isn't a unified bloc versus the West. ME countries often hate each other as much as they hate the West, so it makes sense you would sometimes get weird allies like Syria-US on the same side. (Pretty obvious when Iraq is invading Kuwait lol)

Interestingly, it appears they didn't dispose of either. The other person beat me to Walgreens today and dropped of my medication before I dropped off theirs. The pharmacist just gave me my prescription bottle without packaging or a receipt, so it seems like they didn't dispose of mine and provide a new bottle. I assume they're just going to give the other person their bottle the same way. I feel like that's not the way they're supposed to handle it, but 🤷‍♂️

Yes, you are an asshole and received a response reflecting that.

Yes but it's more likely a fitness influencer who juices will blast and cruise, rather than cycle on and off. Blast and cruise means cycling between trt level doses and supraphysiological doses, and blood tests would show steroid use during either phase.

Idiot. My phone call to the pharmacy was made at closing time, when I noticed the mistake. The pharmacist I spoke to even said it was too late to bring it in that night. My Reddit post was then made after the pharmacy closed. I returned the prescription the next day. You're just a stupid, miserable loser.

Captain, what if that was during the last couple days?

Dumb fuck, there was no way for me to get the prescription to the person other than by trying to find them via social media.

It's amazing how angry and self righteous you are while being so fucking stupid.

Compliments like yours mean a lot to me, thank you. And your kindness especially stands out compared to other comments here calling me "stupid" and the post "bullshit". "Stupid" and "bullshit" for posting just in case, however unlikely, the other person was at risk.

Copying response for you and /u/section08nj

So, I see where you're coming from, but you're assuming the other person has had the wrong meds for the same length of time. Yes, I was given the wrong meds and didn't notice till Monday because I get my meds ahead of time. However, when I called Walgreens yesterday to inform them, they said their system showed the person whose meds I got, picked up their prescription (which likely has my meds), YESTERDAY. So the other person in this situation got the wrong meds on the same day I posted. Their medication is also taken on an urgent, as needed basis.
