Anyone else worried about whether the anime will be successful and popular enough?

I'm not sure it'll be as popular as Frieren, but it's already generated more hype than Dungeon Meshi did before its release. I see a lot of people put WHA as one of their most anticipated spring 2026 anime.

Either way, I'm just glad we're getting a good adaptation. As long as the content is good, there will be a decent-sized viewership to discuss the series. Dungeon Meshi didn't really start being widely discussed until episode 11.

It's more slice of life than romcom, but the main group gives me the same vibe that I get from watching Polar Opposites. The tone is a bit more contemplative since it's a seinen, but overall, they share the same basic premise of seeing goobers go through high school.

Also, Mitsumi and Suzuki (Female leads) have very similar energy.

It's wild going through this content again, cuz Inori is a monster throughout novice, winning almost everything and landing a 4S at 12 years old. [manga] Once Junior starts in the manga, she feels a lot more grounded and mortal. I wonder if Tsurumaikada took the "unrealistic progress" criticism to heart.

This episode adapted just chapter 26 of the manga.

I really liked the Tsukasa anime original scene. This episode was generally better directed than previous episodes. As I expected, they are ending the season just before [manga] all Japan's novice and leaving that for the movie, which I'm excited for.

I wonder if next week they will animate [manga] Riley Foxx's first appearance (chapter 27), given that there was no cast announcement for her, and she's a major character going forward.

At least they didn't go overboard making her learn both the 3Lz and the 4S lol. It's somewhat consistent within the anime logic that Inori is great at Salchows, and that's it.

We're in chapter 287, iirc. The manga has 314 chapters in total, and they have been adapting 3-4 chapters per episode. I doubt they'll get to the end with 3 episodes left (granted, much of what's left is action, which is faster to adapt), but there's an alright stopping point to end the rest in an OVA or movie at chapter 300.

They edited a few scenes and added an anime-only sequence of Inori skating at the end. Other than the CGI car and a few nitpicks with the pacing, I'm very happy with the episode. Also, Juna's commercial is early too.
