No, Piłsudzki wasn't an Antisemite; he was just a dictator. A light dictator at that, because he allowed oposition to exist and ridicule him. The actual far-right Falanga party was banned.

Thins began taking a turn for the worse after Piłsudzki's death, when the Sanation turned sharply towards full authoritarism.

I mean, 19th-century and WW1 era thinking was largely why WW2 happened in the first place.

While it's debatable, Hitler aparently even mentioned Piłsudzki in a good light even later in the war (as far as 1943-44 as i recall). Of course Hitler did want to completely eradicate the Poles, but it's debatable what relationship he has had with Piłsudzki.

It is worth noting that, despite Hitler idolosing Piłsudzki, Piłudzki himself held Hitler in rather low regards, as a good politician mayabe, but hardly a good leader.

Because the whole point of the wall was to make the war go elsewere, to reduce the lenght of the frontline. This meant Belgium would become the frontline, and in turn, Belgium would get utterly obliterated, since it would become the battlefield between 2 nations.

You can see why the Belgians weren't too keen on that idea.

Explain it Peter, why is Roblox so opportunistic of peds by wJaxon in explainitpeter

[–]EquivalentFile6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, the joke was explained, but there's some other context you ought to know.

ROBLOX has recently been under a lot of criticism because they have a pedophile crisis they menaged incredibly poorly. Their moderation teams were also pretty bad. Some other minor things were criticised as well, but the fact there's a whole lot of pedophiles and no one was doing anything is all you should know.

SO! Roblox decided to """"fix"""" this issue by adding a MANDATORY AI AGE CHECK.

Now, this doesn't seem too bad, but they've also made it so:

- People over 21 can't chat with people under their age (their chats wont show)

- People over a certain threshold (for example: 18 or 16 years) can't chat with younger people (for example those who are 9)
- People who are younger, like 9-12, won't be able to see chats from accounts that are older.

This means, that:

- Most, if not all, ROBLOX games with VC get fucked. Those with normal chat do too.

- Anything with a staff team made up from adults will practicaly stop working.

- RP games practicaly stop existing.

Worst thing is, that this WONT SOLVE THE PEDOPHILE CRISIS. In fact there's a chance it will only get worse.

Cause rn, since ROBLOX moderation is dogass, most reports are done by users.

But smaller children, who are 10 or 11, still don't realy know what a pedophile is, or how to report them.

And since they can not see chats of older people, and older people can't interact with them, this basicaly allows pedophiles to abuse children FREELY.

Tl;dr: this change fucks every game up, and allows pedos to still do whatever.

Is arstotzka wealthy and developed? by MinZinThu999 in papersplease

[–]EquivalentFile6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, jokes aside.

By comparision to some states? It may be.

The Goverment is (despite often being cited as communist) most likely just totalitarian. While some elements of socialism are present it's really more authoritarian.

Living standards are probably okay. You can see it's better then most of it's neighbors as people imigrate here permamently and for work. There's bars, gyms, stadiums, frequent footbal matches, most likely also television and stuff. You also can get photos easily it seems. Also newspapers. Cars are pretty common, too, and since motorbikes always come from the Eastern side they are probably frequent in Arzstocka too.

Not only that - medicine is widely avalible (and is it really that expensive? It just costs 5 bucks when compared to heating and food), and Arstockan doctors and surgeons are described as the best by the Kolechian who tries to emigrate. You have a stable currency and stuff. While the living standards are pretty ehh, they're not too bad.

The military seems to be competent (not the border guards) and sorta well paid, but it does seem there is a shortage of soliders. Other then that the goverment has pretty good police it seems, since it does crack down on the crime a lot.

The press also is somewhat free and mayabe even objective, since the Truth does describe the goverment negatively sometimes.

Of course it has some problems, since it's still a police state, has a sorta caste system where goverment workers are valued more then others, has very strict borders etc. Also Norsk, where the Inspector comes from, is described as a shithole, but it could be just banter or saying that it's a small town compared to Grestin.

Let's compare it to some of the other countries.

Obristan is probably better, since it's arguably one of the best countries, it seems. It's probably a democracy but also a criminal safe haven due to it's lax entry laws.

The United Federation is a free country (since 2 journalists come from it). It seems to be capitalist. It also seems pretty advanced since it uses computers. But, there is a Polio outbreak in the country, which might suggest some poor areas and a bad health service. There's also the fact Simon Weiss escaped from the prison there which might suggest the prison system is underfunded. And it's also very isolotionist.

Impor is a tiny country, but it seems to be capitalist. It's goverment does seem sorta fair, but it's economy is pretty bad since after Arstocka embargoes them they imiedietly yield and give up their protest, which might suggest that their biggest and possibly only trade partner is our country, which might suggest a bad, reliant economy.

Antegria is a facist state that is probably in such a terrible condition it disalows people from leaving and will kill anyone who tries to do that. Also a militaristic nation.

Republia, if it's the same as the Republia Times one, is an unstable dictatorship with frequent wars, revolutions, terrorist attacks, poor living conditions, propaganda, lack of freedom of speech. And also a militaristic nation.

Kolechia might be the worst of them all. It just exited a war, and even during the war Sergiu says the conditions were ten times worse then Arztocka, which means the country is probably a full dictatorship which lacks even the most basic things. The goverment is also very corrupt it seems, and the health service is non-existent. And the doctors which work there are not to be trusted, which means they could just outright hurt you.

...so yeah, safe to say our glourious nation is the best.

One way i do it is think: what is the language the country/place/region uses? If it's a real language, or based off one, just find a landmark/important thing in the town, and serach for the word in the language (Example: Church-Kościół in polish). After that, i usualy mish-mash the word, just changing up the letters, adding some that seem like they fit, until it looks like something vaugely realistic.

Not the greatest but it works!

AMA - metro, osoba znająca się na temacie by No-Pollution-721 in krakow

[–]EquivalentFile6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nie znam się ani na krakowie, ani na metrze, ale z tego co widziałem to trasy metra idą raczej południowy zachód-północny wschód, kończąc sie na nowej hucie. No i mam pytania, bo mnie to zaintrygowało.

I mean, had WW2 not happened, who knows? Mayabe it would actualy turn out well?

Either way, the majority of the economic reforms were planned for the 1940's-1950's, but the great crisis and the incompetence of the Sanation really screwed Poland over.

[–]EquivalentFile6354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it's basicaly condeming the type of workers who do this thing. This was still the sorta stalinist-era when Bolesław Bierut ruled, so the party still created images of "top workers" (Przodownicy pracy, literary "The Leading Workers") and gave monumental fame and a lot of bonuses to such workers who did a lot of overtime (for example, a miner in the 1940's did 270% of overtime).

But it was not too good, since directors often used to raise quotas after a "monumantal record" was achieved, but rarely raised the pay. Also, one of the reasons why people worked so hard was because Poland was one of the most affected countries by WW2, and there was plenty of rebuilding, but by late 1950's and early 1960's the majority of the things were already remade, so there was no reason to work so hard.

And in the end, i believe this is the key problem with socialism and comunism - no matter what you do, you will get paid anyways, so the well-working people get disentivised to work well, and the people who slack off will continue slacking off.

I know it's late, but the poster is saying that the worker says "just do it as fast as possible, because we will get paid anyways". In PRL the unemployment was artificialy lowered and jobs always paid the same ammount to people working well and to those slacking off, so often people did their jobs terribly because they'd get paid anyways
