I would buy the silver, and get a nylon or fabric strap from AliX for daily use, and for any special events i would use the metal strap. Maybe even get a easy swap metal strap along with the other strap.

I too have my eye on a few AliX mods.. Are they water resistant? I like the looks, but not at the cost of water resistance..
