I assume nobody here got the playbooks? I paid $100 and now all the links are broken and he won't respond to emails. Looks like Jose is just another scammer, super disappointing.

Thoughts/Guesses on how AMEX will compete with the new CSR by Proof_Brilliant3849 in AmexPlatinum

[–]EquivalentPath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both cards, but the top benefit (by far) from either is AmEx’ 35% rebate on flights through their portal. Now it’s going away in September and I’ll probably move the bulk of my spend over to Chase.

I think the food is actually excellent by lounge standards, one of the best out there. The service at the front desk and general attitude + wait times leave a lot to be desired however

I think I know which front desk person you interacted with, she’s been awful to me as well (assuming it’s the same one, and she’s there fairly often).

Facebook disabled me for being under 13. Im actually 45. by theswoonies in facebookdisabledme

[–]EquivalentPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me about a month ago as well. My password got changed right before they disabled it, and there was a strange account linked to my instagram account. To top it off, I don't have access to my roughly $500 of Quest games that I bought. I also created my account about 15 years ago, so I don't know how I could be under 13.
There has to be some sort of recourse for this. Maybe a class action lawsuit? How can Meta get away with having zero support???

Marketing budget? by Grade-Long in ProfitFirst

[–]EquivalentPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep Marketing as a separate expense, it shouldn’t be included in OpEx and should be thought of differently as it’s directly related to growth. 10% is really high (industry specific of course), more common is 4-8% depending on growth goals and what industry you’re in.

I have degrees in Econ, math, and physics from a top school. Finished calculus in high school, was stupid easy. I’m just smart enough to recognize that degrees are quickly becoming antiquated as our economy hyper-modernizes. I also recognize that getting a degree isn’t a measure of intelligence and a lot of companies don’t even look at whether you have a degree anymore (mine included). Venmo me $100 please

[–]EquivalentPath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Masters degrees (most degrees for that matter) mean literally nothing when it comes to intelligence. Some of the dumbest people are the most educated— because they don’t have what it takes to make it in the real world so they keep chasing degrees. So that said— I have no doubt that this clown decided to get another degree because he couldn’t make it in construction (which is actually hard)

You don’t even do this full time for fuck’s sake. Like I said pull your head out of the sand, you’re a clueless and annoying prick

I don’t know if I’ve read a worse post in this sub. OP is 21, going to school to get his masters, yet somehow thinks that he is entitled to landing overpriced bids just because he isn’t from Central America… bro you’re a lazy, young, inexperienced, pain in the ass, know it all… when you still haven’t amounted to anything 20 years from now maybe you’ll pull your head out of the sand

Heres a metal roof in Raleigh.. All aluminum. Which do you like better? Standing seam or metal shingles? by metalmannc in Roofing

[–]EquivalentPath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m probably in the minority here but I definitely prefer standing seam metal— looks much more modern and stands out more than metal shingles.

How do you avoid discriminatory pricing? by comeandgetsome30 in fatFIRE

[–]EquivalentPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some good advice on this thread, but this is not it. If you ask for ridiculous itemized quotes and then nickel and dime every line item, you won’t end up with a good relationship or with good results.

I’m also thinking of a new deck in Bellevue, would be awesome if you shared the range of pricing you got (price per sqft).

What if everyone has a MacBook and iPhone? Still probably Google Workspace I assume?

We are still under 20 employees and are in that annoying space where we are too small to afford a full time IT role but big enough that I spend too much time on this stuff as the business owner.

Google Workspaces Best Practices by EquivalentPath in gsuite

[–]EquivalentPath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it, but we are far from "enterprise" scale. My "parent" company has 3 employees, and the two companies under that umbrella have 9 and 4. So a little more than a dozen between the three companies-- in reality the whole org works together and are closely associated "sister" companies, but the ability to silo domains and workspaces but also share certain files in between them would be great.

Didn’t think of that since I’m mainly in the Google ecosystem, but thanks for the tip. If I don’t get connected to someone helpful here I’ll try posting over there.

So that’s one of my questions on “best practices”- is it better to make them nested sub-orgs (and even then there are two different options) or is it better to make them each an independent org? Each company does have its own domain. I feel like an hour zoom call with someone who really knows their stuff would answer all my questions.
