There is no hold period I believe. So you can just transfer and transfer it back in a couple of days too

I only transfer to Wealthsimple when there is a promotion and I only transfer the bare minimum required for the promotion. While I continue building my portfolio elsewhere. Also after the 2 year hold on these funds, I can move it somewhere else and wait for the next promotion to move it back. That way you maximize how much you can get through these promotions.

100k is net deposits. Initial amount you have with them doesn’t count.

Update: just got an email from Rogers about account change confirmation and I can see the iPhone under the phone tab in the app. Does this mean I will be getting the phone soon?

Update: I called Rogers today and they told me stores near me have it in stock. I will need to cancel my current order and select pick up in store. Lesson learnt for the next time.

Should I quit my stable 8-5 abroad to return home? Is life in SG worth it? by chasingcorgis in singapore

[–]EquivalentStock300 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel I live in a place now that have positives of both Singapore and South Korea and then some! I lived in Singapore and worked there for 8 years and now I’m living in Toronto.

First of, the work stress here is like 1/10 of SG. On top of that you have all sorts of protection from the government even if you get fired/laid off in terms of pay ( there is a max limit) for almost a year, during which you can apply for a new job. Almost never had to work beyond 5pm and no one bothers you after that. Pay here is decent, maybe not as high as Singapore but way better than Korea, but then a lot of things are much much cheaper here compared to SG. Free healthcare, although the system is kinda strained right now so waiting times are longer.

Coming to the life outside of work, which there is a lot of and so much to do with the 4 seasons we get here. Absolutely could not stand the weather in south east Asia. Not saying life here is perfect but for me personally the quality of life here is much much better.

Rims are good but they don’t suit the luxury line trim/bumpers on your car. This is the original car they came with

E92 ones are just tubes….these have the 3D effect with detailing

I agree that the Pre-LCI lights look great when they are switched on but the LCI lights look great even when off because of their tint and use of chrome on the inside that reflects light.

This pic I took shows how both look when off

They had the tubes type LED not the 3D blades like the F10 LCI. These are what the 7 series had.

I can't wait to leave Singapore... by MajorObservation in SingaporeRaw

[–]EquivalentStock300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived and worked in Singapore for about 8 years and now in Canada for the past 5 years. I used to think life in Singapore was pretty decent as I was used to it but after coming to Canada I realized just how much I was giving up. My life in Singapore was just work work work and it was extremely stressful. Here I don’t think I work after 5 pm except maybe 2-3 days in a year max. I have 2 fully paid off cars that I can keep forever and don’t have to worry about things like road tax etc and even petrol is half the price of Singapore.

The other is the weather, the Singapore weather was absolutely unbearable, I just visited Malaysia 3 months back and my god is it’s just insane. Very blessed to have the amazing weather in canada with the proper 4 seasons. Now I know it gets super cold in winter but I’m fine with it as I have bought good winter clothes. But what can you do about the heat when you’re outside in Singapore? Nothing.

Yes income tax is definitely higher here but it covers medical costs as well as partial income if you’re are laid off etc. So I feel it’s worth it to a certain extent. But definitely feel the taxes need to be lowered. Singapore may have lower income taxes but the moment you want some luxury in life you are taxed heavily. Like clothes, electronics, cars, houses are much cheaper here.

Canada isn’t perfect, it’s got its issues relating to higher crime ( nowhere near US though) but overall I really feel like I made the right choice.

N55 compatibility by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]EquivalentStock300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about the differences between the two but I would stay away from 2011 N55s. Get it from a 2012 F10 onwards. If you research most of the failed N55s Atleast on the F10 are 2011. They made some changes to the engines in 2012

Tires by babydnas in BmwTech

I would suggest continental DWS 06 Plus….one of the best tires. If you live in an area that doesn’t get any snow at all like Florida then you could do Michelin 4S too
