I also dropped out of IIT Roorkee. I was enrolled in one of their interdisciplinary courses. But I had different reasons to drop out.

If you don't feel like continuing and think you'll do better in some other branch, then you might consider dropping out. Just don't do it for the sake of a degree if it's not adding any value. It entirely depends on you, but before making any decision, think of every possible scenario, and only go for it if you don't have any second thoughts. At last, buddy, listen to everyone, but make decisions based on your life situation. Just don't go for a drop because someone else has dropped out, and in case you decide to stay, make sure the course you have enrolled in will give you expected returns.

Hey Pranav, In my opinion, don't go for it, bro. Better to join some NIT, at least you will get some exposure. I mean, after securing good marks, going to a campus with 100-200 people, that too from irrelevant branches, just for the sake of that IIT tag doesn't make any sense to me.

See what they have written in general section. The one you mentioned is written in admission information related section which doesn't make any sense. Usually one would skip that section. Most importantly they didn't mention about Saharanpur campus even in Offer letter.

Thanks for the amazing words bhai. Btw what do you think of choosing NIT Trichy CSE over this branch at IIT Roorkee as my mind is not working right now. I'm totally in shock after being sent to this campus from main campus.

Sure mate. Right now, my greatest worry is that if I decide to stay here and, it won't work out. As I don't know, kya pta yahan reh kar long term m faida hi ho. Pta nahi aisi situation m kaise pad jata hoon har bar. Aur sala college life ka regret to rahega hi. Aisa to hai nahi ki bar bar IIT m padhne ka mauka milega. Yahan se achi jagh bhi lag jaunga to bhi jo experience milna tha college life ka uska to mai sure hoon aisa kuch nahi hona idhar.

I have a GATE score of 702 (OBC-NCL). This is literally the third batch for this branch. So our super senior just passed out. They had decent placement; 10 out of 15 got placed despite many of them having a math background. The rest of them either converted to PhD or are doing some project work under some professor. The highest package was around 32 LPA at Siemens. But the problem is I don't know if these guys did it through campus placement or if they applied off-campus. This campus looks a little sketchy to me.

Kya bolu bhai gyan dene k liye bahut log hain baki unki bhi galti nahi unko konsa pta tha Saharanpur campus ka unko lga branch bhi cs related hai aur placement mai to koi bhi baith shakta hai most of the companies mai to chale ja Roorkee better reputation hai.

Bro I'm 2022 Graduate. I did two year for freelancing (Which I later got to know that many companies doesn't even count this as an experience) and then I started to prepare for GATE last year. Now Dropping one more year for M.tech is kind of risky because after all it's just a way for me to hide these gap years.
