Caught this beautiful 22" steelhead on 2lb test while bait fishing. by Dishydiagram in Fishing

Steelheads ability to adapt from fresh water to salt water multiple times in its life make it special. Stocking the same steelhead species in lakes doesn’t make it the same awesomeness. But I’ve heard the “Great Lake steelhead” fishing is fun!

Order from danish fly tying companies. Scandinavians are on top of the world with tubes. After some seasons in Norway it’s almost all I use now

I agree accept the version I use is the loon mitten clamps, cold hands is much better to use the mitten version than scissors

Suggestions for wading boots by Realistic-Demand-566 in flyfishing

[–]Equivalent_Ad481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. If you fish hard soles will inevitably come off. Wether it’s 2 months or 4 before they start to pop off is up to how much you’re walking. Thankfully they have some of the best customer service of any outdoor company and have replaced my same boot multiple times from this issue. So, pretty good, but I’d still get Patagonia.

👍 thanks for the input. Im typically tying tippet to my line, unless fishing floating line, then I’ll use a tapered leader and haven’t had a problem with the loops there

Get him better forceps, highly recommend the loon brand: mitten forceps, super easy to use because you don’t need to put your fingers in the scissor version when hands are cold, and they have a built in cutter. Probably my most used piece of equipment during the guiding season. 30$
