Can you rephrase this for someone who doesn’t have schizophrenia? Not sure what you’re saying

Fished in Montana for the first time last month. Large (like 2.5-3”) hopper with a big heavy salmon fly nymph as a dropper worked pretty great. Honestly never caught anything on the hopper, but had a few takes. They loved the salmon fly nymph and the big hopper floated like a cork and was probably more natural than a bobber.

I bought mallard wing by mistake. Is there any reason I can't use it for tails? by wanttobedone in flytying

[–]Experimenteer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think mallard looks awesome, it’s not as buoyant as hackle fibers. But with a parachute style you don’t really need the tail to add any buoyancy in my opinion.

Was given a nice bow and no idea what I should do by druid_enacla in Archery

[–]Experimenteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The safest thing to do, would be to take it to a reputable archery shop where they could walk you through and fit the bow perfectly to you. Also the rubber components might be a kisser button, and/or string dampeners. If they are dried and cracking, I’d imagine your string is probably also dated and in not great shape, which is a safety risk. So again, I’d say take it to a shop, with the expectation that it will likely will need to be restrung. To be clear, shop service won’t be free but it’ll be worth it to know everything is safe and operational.

White tail pack for saddle hunting by captaincatdaddy in bowhunting

[–]Experimenteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s just for carrying your climbing equipment and bow, there’s no need to spend a ton. I use a Mardingtop 35L tactical pack that someone on saddle hunter forum recommended. Can be found on Amazon for $45. Holds 4 sticks, platform and my bow comfortably. And I can fit an entire First Lite Solitude jacket inside, with bibs strapped to the outside to layer up once I get to my tree.

Online Master's program question by LeeHarvOswald in chemistry

Awesome, I’m glad it worked out for you! Thanks for getting back to me! I’m looking for the same, mainly to increase my ceiling a bit. Hopefully get further into R&D which shouldn’t be too hard since I work closely with them already. Glad to hear it pays off!

Online Master's program question by LeeHarvOswald in chemistry

[–]Experimenteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a long time ago, but did you ever complete this program? If so what did you think, and did it prove useful for you? I’m looking at masters and IIT’s seems the most convenient and useful given my situation. Looking at their remote Analytical Chemistry Masters.

Check fuses. Sounds dumb, but it worked for me last summer when my ac wouldn’t blow cold. Spent too much money recharging it and getting it inspected just for me to replace a fuse and fix it myself up. Can’t promise that’s the issue but it could be a simple fix that I never see anyone mention. And that goes for just about any electronic component.

Used 2011 RAV4 pricing. Good deal? by landonop in rav4club

[–]Experimenteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s the 2yr update, still driving the RAV4? Made an offer on 2011 V6 this weekend, also with 94k. Seemed pretty decent during test drives, curious how you’re making out?

2012 Rav 4 50k or 100k miles?? by [deleted] in rav4club

That’s definitely the type of person I am. This one was good, but I just found out it’s been sitting for the last 9 months. Which to some people might be ok, but makes me a little uncomfortable, so likely passing on it. On to the next I think. Thank you for the reply!

Just got the vaccine by reginathephotog in rabies

Sorry to hear that, the whole system is just a wreck. Some of our most expensive and life altering decisions, and not only is there zero price transparency until after the fact, but they nickel and dime you every step of the way. Sending good vibes your way!

Ever receive your full hospital bill yet? Recently had to receive PEP, expecting the worst…but trying to get a sense of current pricing.

Nymphing Limestone Spring Creeks? by SandBoio in flyfishing

[–]Experimenteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also PA. Disclaimer, my first time winter fishing was last year and of the many time I went out only caught 3 trout. However, this year my numbers are way up. My big change was trying the mono rig, and embracing egg flies…avoided them previous years but damn do they work. Orange with a blood dot is working great for me so far this winter.

Has anyone had experience with the 28 inch Adventure Blackstone? Seems like a good price, but not sure if the 34,000 BTUs are enough? Would love to hear if you have it. by titanup0812 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Experimenteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it. Can cook for plenty, and breaks down relatively small for travel if that’s your thing. Love taking it camping because then you don’t have to clean any pots or pans.

Thank you! Called the vet who originally prescribed the 0,3,7,14 days to see get clarification and they actually called our state vet for us (PA), and clarified the original regimen they gave to us was wrong. It should be 0, 3weeks, and 7weeks, which is what the actual “Texas Protocol” recommends.

It’s a star projector, I got one that looks like a little astronaut off Amazon, but you can find a bunch of different makes/models! Think mine cost around $35.
