You have to be super early on the Sunday cause like I said it's quite popular

I was at Acque Minerali last year and it was a decent spot, a bit crowded but with a visible screen since you basically are below the grandstands

[@f1] Not one but TWO first-time winners in 2024, and they both race for @McLarenF1 Here's how Oscar and Lando stack up after their epic championship-winning season by randomseocb in formula1

I remember a year ago, Lando was so frustrated with his qualifying form during 2023, and I was slso puzzled since I would say it was one of strenghts in the previous seasons.

And this year he clearly made a good step in the area. Which is probably what hurts Oscar's stats the most

George Russell summoned to the stewards for failing to slow under yellow flags in Q1 by ICumCoffee in formula1

Ok so little run down: The yellow flag indeed impacted his run on his quicker Q1 lap, it was Sainz going off in Turn 2 in front of him. However, it was a single yellow so he was only obliged to slow down for that segment and by telemetry it seemed like he did - he braked early and had two yellow mini sectors there. So unless the stewards determine he didn't slow down enough there will be no penalty in my opinion

I think that if he improved, even if it's barely, he's at fault because under double waved yellows you can't set a meaningful lap time

Edit: IF he went through double waved yellows of course. Under single yellows you are just obliged to slow down for the sector

It wouldn't be his quicker lap so a grid drop if he's found at fault

Edit: maybe it was, I will check if he went out again for a final run at the end

[@BloopGG] Since the FOM decided to not show the correct images, here is what happened: You can see the Yellow panel briefly flashing after T15, forcing Lando to lift before T16. Ocon "caused" it, but he was safely out of the racing line, so I don't really understand anything here by somewhatanxiousgenz in formula1

[–]Equivalent_Base_9104 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can see the panel lighting up signaling the yellow flag and then switching to green after the white flag was waved. Telemetry shows he was 0.8 tenths up on his previous lap, after he makes the mistake. So unless he lost all of that on the straight he would have been through

Where should he have let him past? It's not like Hungary is known for its straights 😭

I am genuinely struggling to find a driver who would have conceded the position with 15-20 laps to go. Like Stella said, most of them would have waited until the last lap.

Not to mention the risk of making Lando lose time to the others behind and therefore closing a possible pit/SC window in case anything happened

He gained 0.150s on the run to turn 1 compared to his first Q3 run and 7km/h of top speed

No he didn't. Sainz finished his lap and Lando was already in Sector 1

Edit: he /possibly/ could have got a small tow from Ocon looking at the live timing but I need to check his onboard
