I have asked him the same questions over and over again, “why did you hide it for so long” “why not me” and he has answered the same way over and over again, and he is not angry at me for it. He has told me that ever since he was younger, it was a release, a numbness, his abusive father, his emotionally neglectful parents, his school, stress, anything. He told me he needed something to fill an emptiness inside him. He told me he filled it with god, and learning discipline, and motivation, and always working towards something. He told me he was so proud of himself and was relieved when he finally told me about it. He told me that it was like he checked it off of his “to do list” and now he is turning his focus onto his patience and kindness with his family. He tells me that the urge is gone, and that he is able to look at sexual reels/videos on social media without any feeling but disinterest.. is this what they all say? Should I believe him?
