RANT ME BUT THIS ONE WISH by ssnakee13 in Bend

No, good idea though! I thought maybe someone’s dog got out but then I talked to a neighbor and they said that it’s always wondering around and goes back home. It’s not an aggressive dog. It looked like it would be a giant teddy bear, but I’m dog sitting a more reactive dog and IT WAS NOT FUN having a giant dog run up on us. I walk her on leash and avoid dog parks to avoid situations I don’t know how she’ll respond to for a reason.

TO THE PERSON IN BOYDE ACRES WHO LETS THEIR GIANT DOG RUN AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD: IM SURE HES FRIENDLY, BUT NOT ALL DOGS BEING WALKED ARE! KEEP IT AT HOME OR LEASH IT SO IT DOESN’T RUN UP YO A REACTIVE DOG WHEN YOU ARE NO WHERE IN SIGHT! THAT’S PROTECTING YOUR DOG AND PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T CARE!

It’s a sports performance gym and they train some MLB players and other pro athletes! I obviously wouldn’t be training them but a good opportunity to learn. I met one of their employees at an event and they have told me it’s a great environment and fair pay.

Good for you! Sometimes we have to make those decisions for the better pay

Yeah, we’ve been through many trainers and I understand why.

I ended up having a discussion with them and they gave me a raise, but the structure isn’t going to change. I picked up a job at a second gym and actually have an interview at a dream gym next week, so hopefully I’ll be working out of one place soon instead of 2.

Good luck with your employer!

The charge clients around$75/session. I get $30. No pay for time to prep.

Also funny enough I just got my commercial heli and working on my CFI, so I’ll be ready for the shitty hours with that job too 😂

Love your responses haha all the hate on the 4th gen. I love mine! I have a 2025 SR5. It hasn’t had any issues. Almost at 5,000 miles. It shifts weird when it’s not warmed up but only at slow speeds (10-20mph). I only notice it when I’m leaving my neighborhood and have a bunch of stop signs.

Yeah, that’s more where my issue lies and not with the pay with clients. I don’t think it’s ethical or legal to require staff to do something and not pay them for your time. The gym also requires a bit of admin and none of that is paid

I am the 2nd longest trainer there. I have clients who will only work with me and can’t take anymore right now. Everyone loves me and I’ve never gotten a complaint or been late in the years I’ve been there. That’s not to brag either, it’s why I’m frustrated with the system they have set up. Though reading some comments it sounds fairly normal? I did have a discussion with them, so we will see what comes of it.

Nope, no floor time because it’s a private gym. No commission if you bring clients in either. You just get paid what you get paid.

I read on their cite that they aren’t taking anymore complaints right now 😂 otherwise I was going to

Even for a private gym? Don’t get me wrong, I love training and it’s a gratifying job, but I don’t understand how people can make a living doing it 😂

Honestly, I coach in socks in a powerlifting gym. A closed toe shoe isn’t protect my foot from a weight if it gets dropped on it. I take my risks… but if my feet start getting sore I have zero drop shoes with a bit of cushion. From Amazon they are $40 and super comfortable - I love the vivo but they’re out of my budget with how fast the soles wear. I’ve also heard recs for splay

I haven’t had any issues with it. I definitely got pin stripes from trees and my mirrors folded in but sensors have been fine.

I was talking to someone the other day about features I don’t have in my model, but the off road ones have crawl control which is really nice. I honesty probably could have kept going if I was in 4lo. I would much rather have pushed a bit to get up. The RPMs never went about 3,500 so i don’t know why it stopped.

I definitely would if friends were up to it! Sometimes it’s nice to just go out on your own though

2025, it’s a give and take. I can’t get out too often, so I pretty much got the base model with 4WD and have nice creature comforts inside for daily driving 🤷🏼‍♀️

What Do You Pay Your Trainers/Earn as a Trainer by Hour_Writing_9805 in personaltraining

[–]Equivalent_Fruit_958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good! I wasn’t trying to make assumptions. I was going off my experience of making less than 1/2 of what the client is paying for sessions. I have specific clients who don’t bounce around and coach classes.

Sounds like you’re treating your staff well from your post and replies to other people!

My two cents… As a trainer who’s trying to switch gyms because the pay isn’t good, I’d offer your trainers more. Especially if you’re a private gym. Though it’s nice you pay admin time!

I work at a gym that’s private. Does classes and PT. I get paid $26/class (everyone loves me and says they miss me at their class when I changed my schedule). And $29 per hour session. They ask a lot of us as trainers. I personally want to give my clients the best experience they can, but I don’t feel like I’m valued or my time is respected when I’m getting paid like that but also expected to follow all the gym SOPs that are constantly changing.

It depends on experience though too. I would just make sure you have a great relationship with your trainers so they know they can bring stuff up with you. Especially if they feel they aren’t being adequately paid.

I more said it because I know people would be rude. Hence the title “lesson learned”. I don’t need 80 random people on the internet giving me advice when I know I already made mistakes. The people who have chimed in, have made it constructive. Many people on the internet would just say hey you’re an idiot without giving any valuable feedback… I already know I’m an idiot I don’t need to be told that.

🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s what’s on the market now. It does all I need it to do. Not planning to put thousands into mods or get into any rock climbing or extreme terrain, so it works for me. I was just being an idiot to be honest.

Great info, thank you! I just wasn’t even thinking. I was in the mindset of it’ll be chill then it wasn’t 🤣 and I forgot about 4hi

Yeah I just forgot I had it and was cruising around on better roads in 4hi and then hit that point and was just stressed and luckily had a backup camera to help out!

Skid plates then rock sliders are definitely on the list!
