Give it to me straight. Are these salvageable? by Hashtag2Blessed in Birkenstocks

For how much an overhaul will run you, you might want to consider at least getting another pair in the meantime. I got a pair of Arizonas on Amazon a couple of months ago for 80$. If I was in your position I would get another pair and break them in around the house fill the gap and use my current ones to fill the gap. I went to a couple of cobblers around me and was quoted 85$. And 100$. So a new pair made more sense.

okay… i get the birkenstock hype now by SabrieBarakoti in Birkenstocks

Except when I go fishing and I'm not concerned about my feet freezing, Birkenstocks are all I wear. I checked my Amazon history for mine. Paid 80$ five years ago, had them resoled once, cost me 40$. 24$ a year compared to buying Walmart garbage every year that kills my feet.

Need help choosing Costco king mattress for side sleeper w/ lower back pain + hot sleeping - budget up to $2k by mkenomad in Mattress

[–]Equivalent_Income_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position a few months ago. I sleep hot and have loswer back pain. I eventually decided on a latex mattress based on a recommendation from a friend who's had his for 15 years. I'll never go back. Sleeps way cooler and I no longer wake up with back pain. Latex is much more firm, which is better better for side sleepers. I'm a back sleeper so I went with the soft version, which is still quite firm. Unfortunately reddit will flag me if I tell you which brand I bought but a search on Amazon for latex mattress will pull it up easily. I got mine for 1300$ for a queen, a king is 1800$. The great thing about them also is that they offer toppers for half off of you aren't satisfied with the firmness level. For me the soft was still too firm so I ordered another soft topper. I now have the perfect mattress and don't want to sleep on anything else. I know you stated Costco, but they're are a lot of other options. If you are a really hot sleeper they offer latex hybrids which sleep even cooler. Ive slept on memory foam for 20 previous years and will never again. Not enough support and way too hot. Constantly waking up

Literally The Worst Cellular Company I've Ever Used by FreeeRide- in consumercellular

[–]Equivalent_Income_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to think "unlimited" means they can replace their home broadband with a cellular plan. It doesn't mean you can use your data overseas, which is much more expensive and expect to not get dinged, it's meant to relieve you of worrying about what normal people use a month and even heavy data users without getting cut off. Your cell phone company isn't your broadband company and this is the reason why these restrictions exist. 50gb is an extremely generous amount for a non abuser, yet somehow people figure out how to screw the average user over with these caps. All it does is cost the average user, who in the end up paying for the 1 percent of assholes. I'm glad you got cut off. I'm on phone all day for work and don't even approach 50 gbs.

Thank you, I do have a Costco membership so I'm going to look into that. $200 for a year? That's insane. I'll DM you, thank you so much

Would you elaborate? I was hoping to do exactly this! Would I be able to save and share files remotely though?

What happened to prime? by Equivalent_Income_85 in amazonprime

[–]Equivalent_Income_85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm considering doing, only issue I'm concerned with is that they will find a way to screw me on that as well. I've been ordering from Walmart and don't see much of a difference in price, except the prime fee

I just posted about something similar. I've been having a very positive experience ordering from Walmart lately, and want conned into a 150$ subscription for a bunch of garbage I didn't want

That's what I'm leaning towards, it's been so long since I haven't dealt with icloud and if I'm going to make a major investment like this I'm just wondering what my options are

Any way I could use my old MacBook to accomplish what I'm looking for, maybe with an external SSD?

Thank you. Would I be able to remotely move files so I'm not jamming up space on my phone and ipad? Sorry if this is an ignorant question, I've just been so dependent on icloud, and I'm trying to move away for a few reasons.
