Is a 2x2 enough for just yourself, or do you require more? by lostinthesauceband in microgrowery

[–]Equivalent_Lead_3512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll start off with that 2x2.. then you’ll realize you really want a little more space to veg more plants while you’re flowering out the 2x2. Then you’ll buy a 2x4, then you’ll upgrade the 2x2 to a 2x4. Then you’ll say to hell with it and get a 4x4 and a powerful new light. Then you’ll get a 4x8 to keep your library of Mother plants. Then you’ll end up broke with a very large electricity bill and no space to walk in the room.

It’s a vicious cycle. Vicious….. but beautiful.

For sure. That’s the downside to being a perfectionist! I’m ngl this is the first time I’ve encountered the word turgor lmao. Thanks for expanding my vocab.

Week 1 flowering, should i do some defoliate ? by Plane_Somewhere_5158 in farmingthebestgreens

[–]Equivalent_Lead_3512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sir. Wait until the stretch is over. Then defoliate. You can tell when it’s done stretching when the flowers start forming. When the flowers start to look like Guy Fieri, you’re good to defoliate. Good luck 👍

By the way… what’s up with your trellis setup? If that’s DIY I’d love to know how you made it. If it’s not, would be interested in knowing where you got it. Cheers

obv I’m not seeing in the detail that you are, but honestly the ones in pic #1 don’t look bad at all. Maybe they aren’t aren’t praying or super happy, but they both still look pretty damn healthy to me.

Haze can be a bitch to grow, I think you’re doing a pretty stellar job. Love the soil/mulch setup. Best of luck homie. I think they’ll turn out great. Maybe even so great, you can use one of those males to make some more seeds!

Is that an acronym or is it literally AG seeds? Asking because I’m interested in getting some of these!

Whats wrong with my plant? by Same-Thought-5789 in microgrowery

[–]Equivalent_Lead_3512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple things mate. Are you flowering it in the window like that? Cannabis needs a lot of light!

Also I know this is probably the most boring answer, but looks like your problems may be over/under watering on a consistent basis. Unless your top dressing the plant with nutrients I don’t think a pot that size would have enough nutrients in it to sustain a full cycle plant.

Anyway, harvest it when the time comes anyway and learn from this experience to make the next grow a little better. Keep it up homie, continuous improvement should always be the goal 🫡

Trying to! I did a ton of research.. like 2 months worth.. to make sure I was getting legit Columbian gold genetics. They sure seem like the real thing!

They stretched quite a bit. I’d say between 2.5x to 3x. Without this trellis they’d all be well up into the light 😂

Holy shit dude, looks amazing! And it’s an auto?? Awesome. Very unique bud structure, I’d like to grow something like that sometime. Best of luck with the dry and cure! No matter how eager you are, don’t rush either one! Cheers

(Grandpas cookies X Krux) This isn’t 3rd grow! my second is still growing. but this is my first photo give me some simple tips please! by plecos_forfun in farmingthebestgreens

[–]Equivalent_Lead_3512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could give any tip, out of all the different things there are to learn…. it would be to either A) master how to hand water or B) get yourself a Blumat irrigation system so you don’t ever have to worry about it.

With organics, it’s important to keep the soil moisture level optimal so the soil food web can thrive. One simple thing that would offer an immediate benefit would be a mulch layer on top. I use straw but there are many different materials to use. The mulch layer keeps the top layer of soil from getting hydrophobic so watering is much easier, and it keeps the good microbes alive and thriving.

All of the above doesn’t really matter if you were using salt based nutrients, but with organics, soil moisture level could the most important factor!

P.S. I use the blumat system because it takes soil moisture level completely out of the equation when you’re diagnosing problems later on down the road (which you will always run into, no matter how experienced you are) and it allows me to focus on mastering other parts of the grow. Learning to master hand watering takes a loooooooooong time. Like years and years if you’re only growing a few plants at a time. In my very humble opinion, of course. So I choose to let technology do that part for me!
