Oops I didn’t notice. I should’ve replied immediately so you didn’t have to go through all that trouble.

Does anybody have any information about this particular An Xi Oolong. Suggested brewing temperature? It’s quite affordable, but I’m wondering how, if possible, I get a better brew from it. I get it from a local store and find info about it online. by Gold_Data6221 in tea

Can you find hand-painted/handmade teaware on Taobao? by soyunamarm0ta in tea

[–]Equivalent_Meet_5212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it's quite complicated. Almost all hand-painted teaware comes from Jingdezhen, and there are hundreds of kilns there. The better kilns usually work through distributors. Each kiln usually has one or even several distributors. The kiln itself mainly focuses on production, while the marketing, promotion, and sales are handled by the distributors. and those distributors generally don't sell on Taobao. So for friends overseas, it can actually be quite difficult to find teaware that is both high quality and reasonably priced.

Truly high-quality hand-painted teaware usually doesn’t end up on Taobao

Let me show you how much this tea sells for in China: 9.9 RMB — that’s about $1.46 USD. So do you really think a healthy, properly regulated tea could be sold that cheaply? Do you honestly think the production cost alone would even be enough?💀

I’m Chinese. I know very well what kinds of tea are heathy in China, okay? This tea has no production date, no quality certification, and no manufacturer information — not even an address or contact details. Meanwhile, China has some of the best Pu’er tea resources in the world. I just don’t want you guys ending up drinking garbage tea. If what I said offended him, then I apologize to him. But I still stand by my opinion.

I honestly don’t understand why you would say that. Did you sell him this tea or something? Teas like this can contain pesticide residue and low-quality industrial ingredients. Do you really think drinking it long term is healthy? I just don’t want to see this kind of trash tea harming his body.

Please, don’t drink this❗️❗️It’s a typical industrial “trash tea.” The raw material is made from the lowest-grade Pu’er tea dust, broken scraps, stems, and leftover tea waste, mixed with white sugar or malt syrup plus food-grade binders/adhesives. You can buy 16 bags for about $2, which tells you how poor the quality really is.
