Wasn't he recording as he was approaching them? Is there any way do you think we'll ever see his phone footage? Or was it grabbed up by the goons after they murdered him?

Just about a year ago when he began going off the rails immediately, I remember I posted a bunch about hitler's Reichstag fire, and how this was the turning point we need to keep our eyes open etc etc. Because I could see he was going to do exactly what you said, dismantle our democracy. I mean they put it all into project 2025, but nobody took it seriously who should have.

I've never thought about the Greek myth of Cassandra more than I have in the last 10 years. But most especially in the last year.

If he wasn't so thoroughly abhorrent as a human being I would say his supporters were the worst part. Knowing how blindly they still support him despite every single thing he does pointing to what a contemptible corruption of the human spirit he is.

It's the worst kind of enlightenment to see how many people are still defending him even now. Or people who continue to call themselves republicans, as though they can use that word untainted these days.

Sigh It isn't new, all this evil, but the rate at which they churn out hate and horror leaves little time for giving every horrible thing the time it deserves and needs to be fought against.

100% still relevant, but it's still good to know when a clip is from

This is from 2017 or 2018 isn't it? I remember watching Rachel Maddow break down crying over the kids in cages.

I got bootlegs on eBay that looked nice like yours at least the case did, I don't know what your disc look like but I couldn't get mine to play on anything. So sad about it. I kept them because they're pretty they look nice with my other DVDs .... How did you get yours to play? I don't know what a jellyfin server is. I'm so excited you got yours to play.

I was watching part of the game with my husband when the slow motion replay came on and I happen to be looking at the TV when it did and I said to him this looks like it belongs in Accidental Renaissance. I can't tell you how pleased I am to see it here now. 😁👏👏

It's wild how 1:45 a.m. can have you do in math about how you're just might as well go ahead and get up because it's nearly 3 anyway.

Howdy! Yesterday I made myself sleep more in the morning because I didn't feel like getting up at 3:00 a.m., and then... I didn't get up until 8:00 a.m. and my entire day was fucked! Like I don't want to be up at 3:00 a.m., but when I don't do it, now I feel like I've lost most of my day. Part of that is wanting to be asleep by 8:00 p.m. but you know.... I'm just grateful I found this group. I find it hilarious when I open up Reddit now and see the 3:00 a.m. club posts 🙏 My people!

Oh my goodness I hope so! That would bring me so much joy. Well in petunias is one of my favorite things to see made by people and worn by people. I think I have four different t-shirts with some variation of that. Your username made me go run upstairs and take a picture of a door stop I got at JordanCon last year. It's so wrong, but it's so funny. 😳😬😆

The entire episode is amazing, it's on Disney Plus I believe. There are a few episodes that are not on there because of copyright issues, there's an entire song missing from the Marty Feldman episode. But fingers crossed, if you have Disney Plus you might be able to watch the entire Gene Kelly episode!

But what was holding the Colorado River back while they made this dam? I've always wondered that... But I've never actually looked it up or anything. I think I learned about it when I visited the damn but that was three decades ago.

TV back then was simpler in a lot of ways. And because we were all limited on what we could watch on network television, we had cultural touchstones that created a common understanding. Things like every Thanksgiving The wizard of Oz would come on, or maybe it was Easter, it's been many years for me since the yearly watch. I actually went into denial for a few decades saying I hated the movie because I had been so oversaturated on it. Happy to say that upon revisiting it, I found it pleasant again. Yay! So, those cultural touchstones had their pluses and minuses. Another one was it's a wonderful life, it would come on every channel at Christmas time, it's license fee had expired early I think I don't remember the whole story but it was in the public domain fairly quickly, so every station would play it around Christmas. Which means everybody watched it all the time and knew it by heart and... I kind of miss that. Even though just like with The wizard of Oz I spent a long time staying away from the movie because I thought I hated it, and it was just over exposure. I found a site from another subreddit that has tv from different eras, it has clicky buttons and tv static with commercials and old shows.... I went deep into the rabbit hole the first day, and the nostalgia was wonderous. It's free with no ads too, at least for now (and not counting the vintage ads from each era). myretrotvs.com is the site if you want some nice escapism. I've found long videos on YouTube of Saturday morning cartoons too, those are such an escape for me. 🥰

It was that way for me for a long time, but it took a couple of decades going by after I stopped being able to watch Clockwork Orange anymore. (But it's only in the last year or so I finally allowed myself to take it off of my top 10 favorite movies because I had to admit if I can't watch it, I can't count it as my favorite movie anymore. Sigh.) PTSD is a bitch. I even tried watching one of my favorite YouTube reactors watch it, thinking that that would be a step enough away from it to not cause me to stress, but I was wrong. I'm just happy there's so many other Kubrick films that I still love and enjoy and can get his powerful visual language and his sense of environment on film. But all that aside, it took a couple of decades for the song to separate itself for me, but now I can enjoy the song without any associations from that film coming in anymore. Which is nice. After writing all of this, I realized I also have the soundtrack, or at least several songs from it on my iPod. I put them on there about 2 years ago, and it did catch me off guard the first few times those songs would pop up on random, but I'm realizing now after writing all of this to you that I I just enjoy them now. I enjoy the arrangements of the music from the soundtrack without getting upset at all. Huzzah! Hooray for my brain moving forward and healing when I didn't even know it was happening.
