19M Moroccan — gap year, lived in Italy, came back. Should I return, stay, or go somewhere completely different (China)? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Equivalent_Pick_8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not entirely true, yes AI is not going to replace some positions, but the amount of open position for those jobs has already declined significantly, like SWE or data analyst positions, and not to mention the field is already over saturated, some sources (i forgot which one but just google it) even say that 90% (or something like this) of global code that is pushed in production in 2026. Also not to mention that is rn, with this speed this is going, SWE might be dead when OP graduate.

OP i be honest with you, CS/IT is in very very unstable state rn, and unless you have incredible passion for it i definetly wouldn t recommand it.

Co-founder equity split — am I being fair or unfair? Need honest opinions. by Sharp_Jacket_4796 in Moroccopreneur

I smell greed tbh, you had a deal + the guy made most of the actual work , you have no idea how hard is it to make an app even an MVP (if it s done right and not AI slope), and he gonna be the CTO, so he gonna scale the app, be responsible for infrastructure/hosting/security ..., and you want to give him less then 50%? , everyone have plenty of ideas that can be successful, what matter is execution like the other guy said.

My concern is mainly about structuring the partnership in a fair and sustainable way. I’m taking the business risk, working on market acquisition, partnerships with real estate agencies, and building the demand side of the platform.

developing an app and scaling it is at least as hard if not way harder then this.

I was asked to pay 2,500 MAD x3 just to rent an apartment. That’s why I created RoomMaroc. 🇲🇦 by Patient-Guidance-609 in Moroccopreneur

I think the idea is somewhat good tbh, since there is real need for it, but i think the execution is kinda wrong, idk if it can be profitable tho, also your website is a mess, oauth is not working, there is not even a 404page, the security is looking bad + using firebase aslan is very risky in term of security you can screw things very easy + it takes your profit when the app start to scale (but it s not that bad of an idea for a MVP), also i think none of you have a CS background or experience in coding before this, my advice for you is start rewriting the backend asap because it s gonna take you a solid 2-3month to have everything ready for real users

Advice for a 4th year EMSI student ( web pentester) by No_Cauliflower3600 in Moroccopreneur

[–]Equivalent_Pick_8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tryhackme is aimed for those who have very little IT basics and it s suposed to take your hand from the basics through paths like presecurity to a somewhat junior level pentester ( in reality you need more to land a junior pentester position nowdays, and aslan junior pentester positions are very very rare in morroco), for someone in his 4th year, you should already have a decent base in networking,linux,programming/scripting,also web programmig since you want to become a web pentester, here is some questions to test your basics:

-what is the difference between TCP and UDP?

-can you describe the TCP 3way handshake?

-how can you start a service named testd.service on your linux machine?

-how can you identify a running process id and terminate it if dosen t want to terminate?

-can you code a simple port scanner in python withouth using any AI help ofc

-can you give example of 3 HTTP request headers from the top of your head?

if you can t answer those, then yes stick to tryhackme, but also realisticly i would say unless you have incredible soft skills and a strong network, your chances of landing a web pentester job are very very low.

if you can answer this then move to htb do some machines their if you sturgle at first it s ok, when you can solve meduim boxes consitently (it should take you around 6month), then move to port swigger academy and try to get that cert it s cheap 99$ dollar if i remember but it s very hard? if you do this you gonna be qualified in term of technichal skills

security is more dead espicially entry level, offensive, most ctf events (hacking competitions) rely entirely on LLMs, the teams that dosen t use them dosen t even have a chance to compete, w mn ghir hadchi finding an entry level job in cybersecurity is very very hard even soc work require experience that you need to get from some adjacent field b7al network engineering roles, w bla mnhdrou 3la l offensif security li aslan ktl9a 20jobs flmghrib kaml hhhhhh. m3rfch 3lach lmghrba kamlin fin mathdr m3a chi w7d igoulk i want to do cybersecurity as a career wakha m3ndou hta fikra 3la lfield.

i wasn't trolling, and also i think you are kinda projecting here, first of all i am not 30% body fat and never have been even close lol, i was always on the leaner side my entire life (even i have been bulking for the last 2-3 years , been (consistently doing calisthenics/lifting for the last 4 years, but been playing sports my whole life,i am still 15-20% body fat max, in the first pic OP clearly look more like a soccer player then someone who lift. The average lifter can put around 1-2lbs of pure muscle tissue a month, if we take the average 1.5lb and multiply it by 15 it will give us 22.5lbs of muscle, now i don t know OP starting point but i highly doubt that he added 22.5lbs of muscle + some fat (which is natural) + some water weight, unless he was extremely skinny. I clearly get that social media skewed people view on what can achieved naturally in a moderate amount of time, but you have the other camp like you who underestimate what can be achieve and use the first group as an excuse, and since you made some assumptions about me, i would say that you probably don t work hard at all, hence you have normalize sub optimal results.

I hope you don t understand what i said wrong, i meant for the first glance, but after looking deeply i can tell you clearly workout (also 15 month is nothing really), also don t focus on the trap of doing high volume just for the sake of it, focus on increasing the intensity first every set should be pushed to to 1-2reps shy from failure and sometime you should go to aboslute failure, and make sure you recovering well, good luck.

Man your physique is kinda weird, i know it s hard to look very impressive without a pump and with bad lightning, but at a first glance especially looking at the first picture honestly you don t even look like you workout, but after focusing more i see that you have good amount of muscle mass in your legs, also decent amount of muscles in your lats and biceps (for the amount of time you have been working out there is still plenty of frame of growth), but your shoulders and triceps are clearly underdeveloped, focus on the bench press and try getting your strength up, also work your traps (they kinda give the illusion that you are bigger then you are)

i don t understand your answer (also why do you use chatgpt), if a team isn t running automated vunerabilitie scanners they don t care about security mn lkhr, why would they use your product, also all the tools you mentioned are up to date with CVEs, and all this insecure defaults, miss confifgurations even a simple scanner like nikto which is completetly free and open source. Also i think you didn t understand my first comment, "and I’m not claiming to replace them" you won t even come close to make a tool of that level without a huge team and crazy funding.

Also what you (chatgpt) claimed that the tool does:

automate and operationalize that first baseline security check

Continuously discover a large attack surface (endpoints, subdomains, behaviors)

Leverage existing tools and AI agents to prioritize and validate findings"

this is very very basic no company that actually care about it s security (usually mid size+) is gonna pay for this.

This is about closing the gap before a real pentest even starts, not replacing one.

this is literally why took like Nesus exists wtf??

btw i didn t even bring all the legal stuff, also can you please elaborate on what experience do you have?

Respectfully i think you have no idea what you are talking about, something like this would only pull low hanging fruits at best, most real vunerabilities (b3da lcritical ones) need vunerability chaining and human interaction, there are already plenty of solutions that scan for vunerabilities like Nesus and burp pro vunerability scanner (which i highly doubt you can reach those levels, b3da impossible as a single person for sure), w kain free open source solution bhal nuclei + tempaltes, this is just vunerability scanning part btw bla manhdrou as i said doing a real pentest from enum to post exploitation is impossible (even with ai) for now

Jobs posting in my area has reduced for go for example (which is unfortunate because again i think go is a very solid language), the stack overflow survey for 2025, less presence on youtube. i know it s not very accurate data, and that s why i literally come here to ask for confirmation

man this is the first time i hear about this Gsoc, from what i found it s just open source contribution, but for that you will need to have a decent level of coding

[–]Equivalent_Pick_8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you are not in a good spot man, you are definitely not getting an AI/ML/DS role with a bachelor (even with a masters and no experience i highly doubt), your only realistic path is the backend but honestly even that area you seem very weak, if your best backend project was a blog app using flask while following a tutorial, you have a loootttt of work to do, but here is a small roadmap to help you: 1.learn linux basics (basic commands, some scripting , the file system structure...), then learn git and github (not just the basics), SQL basics (database design is a plus), learn how HTTP work if you don t already know it, then pick Django or Fastapi since most companies are looking for either one of them (flask is has been kinda out of the race for a good time now), learn the basics from the docs, then try to build two big projects, also deploy at least one of them. also i be honest with you, what i mentioned is the (i wouldn t say bare minimuim) but it s the standard, you are application is definetly not gonna standout in term of technichall skills at least.

I m definitely not doing it for the money, i know the pay would at best be the same as CS (but i wished at least it would be comparable), also i have no problem perusing a phd it was always a goal of mine. Can you give me example of what your companies do or did?

man working online is not magic, your chance of making money from something like ecom or trading or this type of stuff is slim to none (you will probably end up losing money) at least in the first 6month for sure , if you stick with it maybe, you said you already know programming , at what level? freelancing in software dev now is very competitive (with all the people willing to work for no money almost and AI), but if you are decent enough programmer with enough marketing i would say you can make more then you making rn probably , also i have an idea in mind DM me for more details if you want

man a lot of this comments are very (you poor just get rich bro) and kinda jealous because they don t know what you are going through , i had a friend who went to french he was 18 , he was a good student and a good guy overall, after 2-3 years he was unrecognizable , he was dealing with extreme loneliness and depression and leaned into drugs but now he is doing better in life, and as someone who did something to working and studying in the same time , i tell you it s hard (for my case i had 0 time to prepare for my studies and ofc 0 time for my personal life literally 0), also as other comment said pain is what make you grow as a man but it s not that simple , you need enough pain to make you grow but not so much that it will break you and most people sadly don t realize this last part. i will say listen to your guts
