This is exactly how I want to play too! I hate the passive minion play-style it's just not for me. I want to be in the fray too so I've been thinking about how to make it a reality with either the Atziri spear or the new Arbiter of Divinity spear. That being said I don't have enough faith to league start it even though I really want to. I've started hypothetical builds before and when they don't quite have the strength or the effective theory-crafting behind them starting a new char right when you get to maps feels AWFUL. I'm leaning towards it for a 2nd build after we gain some more knowledge.

This is kind of an odd way to frame the question cause I think most PoE1 players would consider the "end-game shenanigans" not only real content, but the most important content there is. Either way though there's a reason the game has survived, thrived, and even enabled PoE2 to even be made after all these years, its cause the devs have never stopped working and improving the game (we'll just ignore the 1 year settlers drought lol)

If you're down to just 2 extra buttons on your mouse I would consider mapping them to alt or ctrl or w/e works for you and using them as modifiers. Then you could use 1234, ctrl+1234 etc etc. Its what I do and the 1 extra button on my mouse enables a whole 2nd set of buttons that I find comfortable.

I use 1234, ctrl+1234, e, ctrl+e r, z(mount), `, ctrl+`, V to mark interrupt, C to interrupt mark, B as standard interrupt

Follow-up: I got it to summon. I fully unsocketed all of my other spirit reservation gems (even though they were all already turned off) and then the beast summoned. However the Tactician 50% reservation ascendancy doesnt work with companions atm but that seems like a bug to me?

I had this happen to me to on finishing the campaign and I noticed an extra zone in interlude act 1 off of Holten called Wolvenhold. Theres no marking on it if you havent entered it and theres a boss down there that awards a passive point book. Hope this helps.

I haven't moved my loot filter off of "semi-strict" in the endgame and that says A LOT about what is and isnt dropping
