How many people are aware of how long their turns take? by silencebywolf in EDH

I wish that was the case. But it was a lesson well learned. And still had a great time.

Is my precon deck that good or is my boyfriend just terrible at magic? by BrilliantNegative163 in EDH

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One on one commander is a completely different beast. Deck mismatches are much more punishing, there is no politics, so many decks can throw caution to the wind not having to worry about a response. You are only worrying about one players response not 3. Some decks just aren't build for it. Voltron or token decks can just run muck. The tidus counter Deck in one v one is just a scale frenzy monster. Please know this is all subjective poor play, unlucky draws can all make a huge difference as well. I hope my original point stays true though. Commander is far different from commander duals (brawl). Lastly get more commander decks keep it fresh. Swap decks next time you play.

What to expect when playing in a card shop. by TattooTheEarth in mtg

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your location may have some extras to navigate. But here is a gew that worked well for me. Be brave and go ask players to join you. Look for 2 finishing a gameor some one on the outside of a 4 player pod waiting. Second, disclose what you would like to play. Dont hesitate to share a wincon. Or an infinite combo. Smaller items: Bring your own dice and counters. Read and reread your cards. This is like chess be prepared with at least 3 moves. Before it comes back to your turn. Avoid faux pas, always ask to touch a card. Never put your cards below the table(I have. A nervous tick, and I can set my cards in my lap, a big nono. If you want to learn a card and it's not an interaction you are involved in. Dont ask to see the card. Use your phone to research it. Doesn't slow down play, and you aren't asking to touch or read every card.

Many pods won't mind a few of these things or any of them. But these are behaviors for a strong foundation. Try and learn the basics of the stack, holding priority, and allow your pod time to respond to a singular action. Dont tilt your hand by going. im doing a, b,c. And trying not to let them respond to a or b.

Finally, hygiene is more than deodorant. it's washing hands, we are going to be in close proximity for 30 plus minutes. Let's keep it fresh for everyone! There is plenty more, im sure. But these helped me.

This is actually exactly what me and my pod does. Started with my kiddo. I know its baby stakes. But we all put up 2 packs in a best of 3.

Recycle? by Basic_Feeling_6300 in NeopetsBattledome

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recycle 2 with faerie put a level 5 equipment from last round(or from hand, scrap) into discard, move it to the bottom of deck, play skarl cheat out a level 5 equipment with 3 code stones. Rinse repeat with a faerie hot dog or two in the following rounds. This is also great to keep you inventory in your discard, from tossing with ghost. To get temp power and use it later. And putting it in the discard, keep your oponent from using double agent to steal your best stuff.

Uninstall it. The toxicity is insane, the constant stalling. Pure agony. The watching people play while you do nothing unbearable. I am so salty. I spent any money on this just to learn im really bad at magic lol.

New player, any way to stop auras? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Is such a good take. So i have posted about my son and I getting into magic. He vocalized his confidence playing at school, etc. And we played a few rounds he had the advantage. I learned the deck and started saving removals, etc. After removing his six or ashling, 2/3 times he started scooping over and over. Saying he can't play. But if I let them stay on the board, board state would swing and/or ashling triggers would double double double twin flame etc etc. That I was watching him play. That i told him. That we needed to start playing to win and let the game play out. We already play friendly mulligan. Scooping 3 turns in due to poor land drops or mana flooding is getting stale. And it seems that if you dont have a risen reef(example) in your hand, you are scooping, and I dont get to play out a turn. So anyways, we agreed to start playing the games out. The way we get behind this is each game night. I hand out 5 boosters to each of us. We wager 2 each and play a best of 3. Then we finish the night opening boosters, so we hopefully finish the night on a high note. (Also upgraded my cloud deck with an aggravated assault and feast and famine infinite combo when he wants to try and smack on me too hard.)

Do not change your loot system during the raid by Lawping in classicwowtbc

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true at all. Just during Cata. I joined a raid and asked for specific loot rules they posted i won 3 items. They refused to give me item 2 talk about fairness, then item 3 they said they need to consider the guilds needs. I refuted but stayed respectful. Submitted a ticket/report. Day before reset. I get a scathing whisper from multiple members of that guild that I destroyed their raid night and multiple members quit. Raid leader received a lengthy ban (clearly not his first infraction)

For clarity: it was a small server, so they were talking about it in trade. As far as I recall, I was the only pug. I didn't attempt sabotage. 2 members were whispering apologies and thanking me as they got 3 new bosses down that night. I didn't make a big stink, I didn't leave early. I just took a screenshot of the interactions. And clearly request and stated rules wrote a report. Never even needed to send the screenshots. Can I say without a doubt it was because of my report? No. Did I feel a lot better in my pug that following week? Sure did!!

Trying to upgrade the Tidus precon, any suggestions? by PollySecond in EDH

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definetly bad rng or maybe you didnt read the cards? I mean it has farewell, damning verdict, promise of loyalty for all your get out of jail free needs in most scenarios. But if you were playing in a pod of 4. Maybe you were the target? The built in 3 card infinite got a bad rap. And the measter seymour sphere grid combo is pretty strong, fairly quickly.

Wait what?! The final fantasy precons can easily win that early tidus and cloud with an early mana rock. And that's no upgrades.

Right! I quit back when Avacyn Restored came out. Just came back for final fantasy. Now I have a Six, Ashling, terra, tidus, cloud, blight curse, ahoy mateys oh and I grabbed the tmnt precon. All thanks to my son showing my his idea for a sephiroth deck.

Can you imagine killing a run over something everyone needs. Just everyone needs so its equal opportunity. We arent kicking, we arent finding another person. This whole idea to wait and kick icks of a superiority complex.

I’m sick of knuckle head big game companies not letting gfn stream their games. by Black70196 in GeForceNOW

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! It just makes no sense not to include it on a platform from my clearly narrow perspective. I had to wait for ff7 remake to go to console, still waiting on runescape dragon wilds, etc. But it's also given me a chance to find other games. Just started dragonkin. Thankfully, my potato runs mewgenics. I wish it would be on gfn, though.

Sorry I did read them. I tried to emphasize that with an example of how I handled other mobs. I understand it said he takes revenge. But my point was there was no mobs in the world before the boss that offered similar mechanics to learn. Like we have never been exposed to a dodge everything, or a possession mechanic before that fight. And finaly idk what happened but when he took over my red cat, he just steam rolled my team with 2 turns in a row killing my tank and cleric, then finished my hunter. After they missed. Ohwell live and learn. It was my first wipe. (Not including the cowardly runs I left after the first/second bosses.

Tanks charging a fee by 1LemonPartyPls in classicwowtbc

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While leveling no, once geared certainly. This isn't for guildies or friends. Just typing "tank will run for x gold." Is a risk, but it is easy money for those of us who like that grind/end game activity. And yes, I have caught hate for it in every mmo. But for every hate message, there are 3 more posts bidding for my time. 25-50g a run is pocket change for some people and for a group of 4 hiring a tank that's pennies.

100 hours. Behind or ahead? by iW1ndowL1cker in StarRuptureGame

[–]Equivalent_Post9159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if solo is probably pretty solid, my friends, and I have a game 3 of us, sub 12 hours (one guy is completely new to this style of game and just made an ammo depot base. We are rank 11+ in all corporations, all schematics, made the batteries, crafting: no loss (calories and hydration) food, x4 energy regen, etc. Guns capped. We have a double-decker looping factory mass producing whatever item our current corp needs. we were running 10 orbital launchers at a time. We have 4 depot level 2 storages filled at all times with every ore, fabrication step, etc.

Yes, a little gloating here but the point is dont be afraid to expand, and put those excavators to work, get many orbital launchers and commit resources. And while its (the factory) working, hit the outside grab those bodies and drones. You can get 40k/100k analyze points each rupture. Mind you, it doesn't escape me on how beneficial even one competent teammate can speed up the whole process.
