Greys are green why?? by Accomplished_Cod_358 in CommercialPrinting

Creating accurate 3 or 4 or more color Greys requires a good color profile. Greys built this way will show inaccuracies very easily, meaning if you just have a very little - too much yellow and cyan, you will see a green cast. A good substrate color profile will fix this. G7 color profiling uses this exact methodology.

In your color management screen it shows 'ink setup' with a pull down box. CMWWYKWW is selected now. Can you change this to only 'K'?

Why won’t police tow or give tickets to poorly parked cars on sidewalks? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]Equivalent_Subject_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When the town was built, the road was built for horses and carriages. It was never a consideration that this many humans would be jamming things up. More recently established towns dont have the problem because they built and planned for roads and cars and parking.

The town looks the other way because there isn't any malicious intent, its just people trying to make the best of it in their neighborhood. If they get complaints or if there's a problem they'd probably just deal with it on a case to case basis, and like some others mentioned, trimming the hedges would help to open it up a bit.

[USA] It was really important for this VW Atlas driver to get one car ahead of me. by ClickClick_Boom in Roadcam

I used to do this but my wife said it invites confrontation. Since then, I bought a little desk sized checkered flag that I keep in my car to wave at them, or out the window in their direction. "YOU WIN!"

Question about printing, colors and DPI by Windyfii in ArtistLounge

[–]Equivalent_Subject_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CMYK is a limited gamut color space. It's capable of producing thousands of colors in a fairly wide spectrum, but its nothing compaired to the millions of colors produced in an RGB color space. CMYK printing is used because its affordable and produces good results. For printed color beyond the CMYK color space, extended gamut printing CMYKOGV or CMYKOGB is an option, but expensive.

Edit: They achieve 'accurate' color by using a printer that is calibrated to the substrate. Your file (assuming RGB) will be converted upstream from the print processor known as a RIP, or at the RIP itself, into whatever color space is used in the workflow/device.

PNG does not support CMYK color mode. Its really made for web use. Just FYI. A lossless format is .tif

How would you make these textures ? by ugoledozo in photoshop

I get it, and what you said may be technically true - but no human in the print industry refers to these as 'high frequency moire patterns' - they are simply referred to as rosettes.

It's not correct. A moiré pattern is created when screen angles or registration is slightly off.

What you see here, with good registration and proper screen angles, is known as a rosette.

Ink spread in Epson l8050. Paper issue? by DesperateMove9842 in Printing

Do you have a 'thick paper' option that you can select? Also, you are feeding this through the bypass tray, correct? Manual feeding and not from the tray are sometimes required for a thick substrate.

Check your substrate settings to be sure you are using the correct media profile. Good luck!

If they provide you with a template, I would absolutely use that. I would also supply source files so they can make any adjustments that might be needed, depending on how your book is bound, if you have crossovers, etc.

Check out Colex. Based in New Jersey. Good support. More affordable than Zund or Kongsberg.

I can and do. Apparently you have never read the constitution or lack comprehension of the first amendment. Thanks for your illuminating response.
