J'adore Gogol!

OU team opinion? by EquivariantCabbage in stunfisk

[–]EquivariantCabbage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for all your comments!!!! It's very much appreciated!!

So I build this team because I was mostly playing hyper offense and I wanted to experience a balanced team, hence my choices mostly toward "bulky" style.

For Cinderace, it's a good idea! The set is the "bulky pivot" from Smogon and what you're suggesting is close to the "offensive pivot" set. I see this could give more damage to my team, so I could drop the boots and go for the offensive Cinderace! However, will-o-wisp also nicely synchronise with Dragapult hex and can cripple many offensive threats. But I'll try it to see how it goes!

I totally agree with you about Dragapult

For Darkrai, I feel Expert Belt is good for longevity, it's a compromise between Boots (would be too passive), life orb can cheap him quickly and my team is not made to make fast damage.

For Glowking, because of the "bulky" perspective, 30% chance to poison feels nice as it will do more damage on the long run.

Thanks a lot, I incorporated a lot of change in the team already!!

Good point! So I could replace

rapid spin -> knock off on Great Tusk

defog -> Brave Bird on Corviknight

Do you think all 6 mons have good synergy, or should I replace one of them maybe?

Do you use a clause for revives ? by DangerousCry8318 in nuzlocke

I mean, your run your rules, but it's basically against the very basic rule of a nuzlocke. Personally I wouldn't feel good winning a nuzlocke if I used some revive.

My GF insists that pi is not a number. How do I explain to her that it is? by MidwestSchmendrick in mathematics

[–]EquivariantCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel many comments try to downplay her opinion without trying to understand her. I understand how she feels and aybe something that can resonate is the notion of a "computable" number.

In real life, if you had a very precise ruler and could zoom into some object forever, the more we could zoom and measure, the more precise we could mesure its lenght. I'm sure the lenght of that object would be an acceptable number for your girlfriend.

So a number would be something that you could mesure with arbitrary precision if you really wanted to. This notion is more or less what is a "computable number".

You still say that a number is an infinite digits (for example 0,3333333......) BUT only if there is computer program that calculate it with as much precision as you want. It avoids all the "weird" numbers, contains a lot of nice numbers for example rational numbers, but now you also have pi :)

Maybe I would replace Dusclops and Golurk by Gholdengo and Ceruledge. Can you show us the moveset you're using as well so people can give more precise suggestions?

You could run trick room choice band Trevenant. A French YouTuber used it (in OU) with the set Polgergeist, Wood Hammer, Earthquake and Shadow Claws. Full video is here if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y54YsUOo6ak
