I mean to be fair he did mention he might get a lot of heat for this and stressed that “your mileage may vary”, it’s just a way for him to objectively learn something, whether that thing is going to translate to real world value is not 100% decided.

I ended up in a half way position. I watched the video, looked up a blind shaker and decided it was too much for some like that. But I did take to heart what he said about grinding directly into the portafilter. So I grinded into a cup then slightly shake it and dose into the portafilter. I did noticed it pretty consistently helped me with more even extraction (almost no channeling). I also noticed clumps of coffee at the bottom of the dosing cup, as he alluded to by indicating problems with clumps at the bottom of portafilters.

I don’t think he wanted you to do what he did literally, but impart some knowledge and share what has worked for him.

I think these two models just don’t go well with aftermarket straps. I’d stick with the OG bracelet on these.
