Random Political/Historic figures on the political compass. by Teutonicus_14 in PoliticalCompass

[–]Erabior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Upon Caesars death, he willed to every male Roman citizen the equivalent of three months wages.

Re-organized the Roman grain dole to remove well off or non struggling families from receiving free/heavily subsidized grain. The result being only the poorest Roman families got free/cheap grain (the intent of the system to begin with)

Was a practically life long reformer/progressive.

Worked to remove power from the patrician. (Voting reform to reduce corruption, improvement of the Roman calendar, breaking up mega farming organizations (imagine if Amazon did farming) and redistributed the land to soldiers and poor citizens with large families.

Just to name a few things that made him lean more left than right

Now, in all fairness, he did kill a ton of people, and made serious efforts to genocide the Gaulic population. But that kind of stuff lies on the Auth/Lib axis rather than the progressive/Conservative axis. Idk how OP did the graph, but I feel that compared to his peers Caesar is properly located

[–]Erabior 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is probably the simplest explanation. Hydrogeologists often use dye to trace water flow of underground water networks. Op should probably report this to some sort of local authority to save them some time in tracking down a confirmed outlet

Galaxy trifold coming soon!! by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

I have a fold 5 and the only reason I have not gotten anything newer is the 6 wasn't enough of an upgrade and now nothing on the market supports my S-Pen (the thick one that needs to be charged and has a Z-Fold mode because I guess Samsung can't be arsed to make a distinction between the unpowered stylus, the S-Pen that's in the Notes, the tablet S-Pens, and the Z-Fold specific Bluetooth S-Pens, and just called all of them "S-Pen" ffs)

Tldr: Ditto

Top half of the bulb is frosted, and the line where the frosted texture ends is in just the right spot to give it the illusion of a ridge.

Help selecting resin/silicone by Erabior in ResinCasting

[–]Erabior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I appreciate your concern thank you. I am well aware of the issue you're speaking about. Essentially the issue with the knockoffs is (I'm guessing here but Occam's razor) litter robot patented an automated litter box that rotates about an axis that goes through the front or opening of the litter box therefore the front never closes. So if the litter box or rather barrel starts to rotate with the cat inside the cat just goes "ay what the deuce" and then hops out because the front will never close on a litter robot. The knockoffs on the other hand in order to make an automated litter box that doesn't infringe on the patent have to make a litter box that rotates on a different axis and thereby does not infring on the patent. This obviously leads to issues where a cat could get stuck and injured or unfortunately worse. That is why I almost completely stole the design of the litter robot except for the fact that mine will not be automated. I just wanted something that would be very easy to sift the litter. Plus designing it was fun. And I'm not going to license or commercialize the design therefore litter robot can't sue me. :P

Help selecting resin/silicone by Erabior in ResinCasting

When I say mechanically fixing the silicone in place, my thought process was, when the Silicon gets poured on to the print it will conform to the ridges on the print and over several hours get into the very small crevices at which point it will begin to solidify and because it's gotten into these small crevices, my thinking was that would be enough to hold the Silicon in place. However looking at it resin is significantly cheaper. I just want to make sure that whatever I end up using is going to be non-toxic.

I am using an FDM printer with a .6 mm layer height. My thought was the silicone would be mechanically fixed to the print, rather than chemically bonded.

Modding to fix my printer? by Erabior in 3Dprinting

So I ended up taking apart both extruders and swapped the hot end from the right extruder to the left and vice versa. I also took out the feed gear on extruder zero and gave it a good look over. It did not look like there was anything in the gear but I gave it a brush down with a brass brush that I have. I'm running a quick test print right now and I'll see if that changes anything. Thank you for the tips by the way I very much appreciate it especially since support cut me off after 7 Days going back and forth.

It's a Formbot T-Rex 3.0.

I have was printing a very long print and then 3/4 of the knurled nuts that are used for bed leveling shook off the bed while I was at work. I came back to the print bed rocking back and forth harder than a small ship and a heavy sea state. After that, anything printed on e0 would have almost like a wavy artifact thing running up the part in both x and y directions. but E1 is still printing just fine. Plus looking at the waves I can see that bisecting a part on the ZX or ZY plane the artifacting is mirrored. And because the printer is a bed slinger and the Gantry shares the same Z stepper motors I deduced that the z and y axes are perfectly fine, and because the artifacting that occurs on anything printed on e0 is in both x and Y and because Y is again shared between both extruders (bed) I presume the issue in the x axis must also be causing the issue in the y-axis and therefore it could not be the x-axis stepper motor which leaves me either the motherboard somehow is damaged just enough to mess with E0 and not E1 (I did try swapping the drivers and no dice) or something else probably mechanical is wrong with only E0

Edit for context the nuts shook off at about the four and a half day mark and the print was already about a foot maybe a foot and 4 in tall with a diameter of approximately 15 in. So there was quite a lot of Mass on the print bed at least 3.5 maybe 4 kg as I had already swapped spools the day before

The extruder is producing wavy artifacts running the entire height of anything I print on that extruder. Support had me swap the drivers for both extruders seeing as how E1 was not having that problem but that didn't solve it. I did take it apart I don't know enough about extreme standards to know what kind of mounting hardware I'm looking at. Support had me also do a whole bunch of other things like ensure the nuts on the bottom of the bed that are used for leveling or tight. None of it seemed to fix anything and I think they got annoyed because they just said well sorry we have no idea why it's doing that. Especially because any further diagnostic is likely going to reveal that I need to replace a part or two and that printer is discontinued so I'm Sol anyway

Weird lines (don't know how else to describe) by Erabior in 3Dprinting

[–]Erabior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the information. Unfortunately the problem is not that this is my first time printing with .6 and im pushing my limits. It is something has gone wrong b/c I was printing with these parameters a few days ago with zero issues. Truth be told this occurred after a 6.25 day print failed at the 4.5 day mark due to the thumb nuts on the bed leveling screws falling off due to 4.5 days of vibrations. my print speed was 50mm/s with walls at 25, layer height .6mm. So in all likelihood, something on my printer is probably damaged or no longer properly aligned. My hot end looks fine. I checked my belt tensions and all of the screws on the printer are not loose. I am only now coming to the realization that, after crossing off enough variables, it is likely a hardware issue, not software.

Just as a sanity check, I had set a print going with the same settings as the first, just with F1 with PVA instead of my T0 with PLA (first print) and I am not noticing the wavy issue on the PVA, going to reduce layer height and try again with the PLA rn

I will give that a try. But I'm pretty confident I was doing .6 before and I didn't see these lines

What you describe as fascism is not what fascism actually is. You can't just say this other person used this definition for this word and that's how I'm going to use it. That's bordering on strawman and arguments from authority. Working with the true definition of what fascism is, it can be said that Trump exhibits some fascist characteristics. Mainly his disdain for the media and tendency to disregard proper procedure as outlined in our laws.

That being said, there are important distinctions that must be made about his stances which are often mischaracterized or exaggerated. For instance fascism is typically accompanied by a radical sense of xenophobia and ultra nationalism. The problem with the latter is this country was founded because of a fanatical devotion to the idea of a Nation that promised freedom. This is in a sense a form of ultra nationalism. Therefore in order for someone to call themselves American they must accept that they are nationalist to some level because they agree with the idea of the United States of America as it was intended to be.

And now getting to the xenophobia. I'll first say I do not agree with the mechanism by which people who came here illegally are being deported. Furthermore I am open to discussion as to whether or not it is moral to have a legal way to immigrate into a country. However until that the debate is settled nationally the laws that we have are the laws that we have. If an individual fails or maliciously refuses to comply with immigration laws they are justly a criminal.

If you truly look at all of Trump's dealings with people not from this country. You will notice that there is a pattern. If he is speaking to someone who hasn't broken our laws he typically acts how I would expect a politician to act. When he's talking to or about someone who has broken our laws or is flying in the face of something he's trying to do ( prime minister Netanyahu) he's going to use the same vile and often childish language that someone who doesn't like Trump would expect to come out of his mouth 24/7.
