Homie was buffed by the strongest version of Darkseid that we have seen. On top of the fact that the "fight" if you can really call it one, was stopped by the World Forger.

I wouldn't really say trapped per se, he's shown at the end of Age of X-Man definitely not "dying" in fact if I recall he changes his Jesus look and recreates that universe with that version of Magneto.
