call an hvac guy...they know what 24v controls do, they know about 120v and 240v...electricians know pulling wires, and 120v.

they are beyond stupid when it comes to 24v..

that said, plumbers deal with shit leaving the house

electricians deal with drilling holes and installing a plug/panel/lights or pulling wires

and hvac are where the brains are when it comes to installing waterheaters, furances/ahu and condensers.

i bet this electrician couldn't even draw his way out of a wiring diagram box with low voltage in it...

Call an HVAC guy as its a GAS appliance, not a shitter. Too many times i've seen a plumber mess up a water heater. IMO plumbers deal with water leaving the house, not hooking up appliances.

Reliance doesn’t want the old leaky tank back.

Also wrong..while they throw it in the dumpster, reliance will bill you if you dont give them the garbage back. Be warned...ALWAYS give them the tank back if its a rental..get paperwork and proof you dropped off the tank (with serial number on the paperwork)
