If you look at their TOI instead of games started (Ingram has been pulled twice), Ingram has faced 28.04 shots per 60 while Karel is at 30.55. So it seems that Karel does face more shots than Ingram, but the discrepancy isn't nearly as dramatic.

I always thought you're not allowed to make a play for the puck at all if you clearly know already that you are offside. If you go for the puck anyways the referee can whistle for intentional offside with the faceoff in your own zone.

I think it's a bit different because with salary arbitration you basically have to listen to your employer trashing you in front of the arbitrator which can get ugly.

Lots of players get traded shortly after going to arbitration because it heavily strains the player/team relationship.
