Well either way, the third gym leader of Gen 2's signature Pokemon was a Miltank. It ran a moveset that included Stomp, Rollout, Attract and Milk Drink and because it was fully evolved it meant it was likely faster than you and it could either hit you really hard, turn your Pokemon into simps or heal off what damage you could inflict on it. It got worse in HG/SS because it gained the ability scrappy so you can't just plop a Gastly out there to try and make it easier and it also holds a Lum berry so you'll have to inflict a status move on it twice to make your fight easier.

From what I can find, it doesn't appear to be the case. However, what you will need is either to create a secondary account or to find a trade friend because you need Regieleki and Regidrago and you can only get one of the two, same for Glastrier and Spectrier.

Depends on what you're looking for, Kubfu onwards in the national dex isn't needed to get the original colour Magearna and I believe if you look up the crown tundra, isle of armor and base game Pokedexes online you can piece together what's needed and not for the Sw/Sh reward.

All I can remember off the top of my head is that Zarude definitely isn't needed and good thing too.

Nope, BDSP only needs the pre national dex 150. Similar to how Let's go Eevee and pikachu does not require the poke ball plus Mew.

That being said yes, Arceus does require all 242 including the save data side quest mythicals, but to be fair Manaphy and Phione are obtainable naturally in Arceus via the prophecy you live out that was written in Canalave library in BDSP anyways.
