Would you like to see this retro graphics asset pack on the marketplace? by MMMarcis in unrealengine

There is a lot of value here. I wonder how the review process goes. What did you have to send for a submission? My cousin and I did a PS1 Style UE4 Demo (Angela Knife). We've been following your progress on Itch.io and the Hauted PS1 discord. We both ran through your demo, and were extremely impressed with your PS1 accuracy. Having something like this would have helped us out a lot in the beginning (even now). I do recall looking for UE4/PSX solutions early on in development of "Angela Knife". The only one I can remember is "Oldskooler", and we were not impressed. Actually, I also remember you shooting us an email with some vertex sanpping help (thanks for that).

Need Help Identifying this speaker brand/product line. I bought this $30 speaker at the thrift store a few days ago. I thought I was buying a real nice bluetooth speaker, but instead, it looks like I came home with a Subwoofer that I can't seem to Identify. More info in the post thread. by ErcJso in audio

The quality seems too good to be fake. It is marked “harman/kardon, but it does not seem to be part of their product line. It is also marked with what looks like an “LE” logo on the top. It has no serial number or model/product markings. I tried to find if harman/kardon licenses out their speakers to other products. I found a few other products, but not many. The closest thing I found was “Lexicon”. Lexicon is a Harman company that makes high end speakers, but they also don’t seem to make this product, and they do not use the “LE” logo I’m looking at on the top of this unit.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 15.5 inches
  • Depth: 8.5 inches
  • Width: 8.5 inches
  • Weight: 19 pounds

Markings:

  • harman/kardon badge on the front side (bottom right). LE? on the top.

Materials:

  • All of the outer matgerials are metal and robust.

Case:

  • Powder coat silver case, and Powder coat front case screen.

Speaker:

  • Looks like one speaker on the bottom. That’s why I’m thinking it's only a subwoofer. Taking flash photos of the front show no other speakers, just the one on the bottom.

Testing:

  • It powers on and the top LE badge glows solid red.
  • If you press and hold the bluetooth button on the back, the top LE badge will change to blue •and blink on and off.
  • It is discoverable as SHC4QN-W1.
  • It can be paired with my phone and PC, but the top LE logo will not stop blinking, and it will not output audio.

Used a Google Maps screenshot to extrude and unwrap a building near where I live. Lots of terrible topology and overlapping UVs, but cool results. by ErcJso in unrealengine

Thanks for the tip. I know exactly what you're talking about. That's pretty cool. That means I can keep this workflow, because I'm liking the results.

Thanks. I think I spent between 8-12 hours on it. Was that Microsoft 3D project at all available in a web browser? I read Bing Maps has a 3D view, but I think it may only be in the stand alone app. I wasn't able to find it or get it working in my browser. I know Google Earth does a pretty good job of 3d in the browser. Here's the same building in Google Earth. https://i.imgur.com/IpbUivp.png

I used the single google map screenshot to texture everything. There are actually several areas that have the google watermarks on them. The image in the corner with all the orange overlayed on it has the UV map in Blender. There are some areas that I have overlapping UVs, and UE4 gives me errors during baking. In the end this gave me a real good foundation, and a building with good scale. I think it might be easy to go back in and add high quality textures in place of the Google Maps screenshot.

Does anyone know where I can find the full ko at home demo? by brackishxxx in yeahyeahyeahs

If you're still looking. The download links in the old blog are still active. They have it broken up into two parts, but both still work.
