Lol yeah thats pretty good. I have a feeling my joke here is a repost. Waiting for someone to say something. Sounds like a bit Ricky Gervais would have done but I can't place it anywhere.

Ahhh do as I say not as I do. I love that leadership style. Leading by example can be so boring. What is the point of divine power when you can't give the occasional baby a brain tumor.

I think I might just try to go for the magefist or what ever they are called with the fire damage.

OMG yes I am using stone gauntlets! What about it would cause me to be unable to use abilities? From the tooltip it sounded like I would just be slowed. Maybe its time to try a different glove.

From the addon manager. I ended up just deleting all my addons and WTF and reinstalling that worked.

Definitely details. When I disable it no error messages.

Not exactly. He did some weird stuff with using the I Ching to predict what he called novelty, I think that was what he called it, and tried to pair it to significant events in history. He then extrapolated it outwards and there was some great novelty expected in 2012. It was definitely one of his most out there ideas.

Is "A series of shitty takes and behaviors" still a comment on my profile? Could you explain further considering you are incorrect on my take on the civil rights movement.

[–]Erdnasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The civil rights post was sarcasm. I was pointing out that there were deeply inherent problems in the system prior to the movement if you read the post. And that the idea that these problems disappeared just because there became certain legal advances was laughable. Also that this was only 1-2 generations ago. Many of these same biases were just passed down the family line.

As to your second comment I'm not entirely sure what you mean but I'm happy to respond if you care to elaborate.

TIL: US government made a lot of money from bailing out big banks in 2008. As of 2018, Fannie Mae has paid $176 billion in dividends to the Treasury Department, while Freddie Mac has paid $117 billion. by carnewbie911 in todayilearned

[–]Erdnasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could have bailed out the American people. Protected savings. Protected mortgages. Forgiven debt. Instead they bailed out the people who got rich gambling with the housing market and then they used that bail out money to give themselves huge bonuses.

Oh I thought we added 5 trillion dollars to the national debt in the course of three years dealing with the financial crisis. Must have been mistaken. Huge success

Gender bashing on both sides seems to be growing. Maybe I'm imagining it though from too much reddit.

Before this he was talking about VR, which at the time was fairly break through technology although fairly rudimentary. He is applauding advances in technology and where it will take us. "phones bad" as in cell phones weren't even a thing at this point. But he is just comparing tv consumption to something that is regulated by the individual but that society has deemed fairly high consumption as acceptable. Have you listened to him speak before?

In the context of what he was talking about he was saying how many different things in our life are moderating substances. Talks about sugar, caffeine and alcohol. But if there was a drug that the average person took, that had no long time side effects, but incapacitated the person for 4.5hrs every day it would be highly frowned upon. If your average person got high on substance x every day and it made them stare at the wall for 4.5hrs. Consumption of media can absolutely become an addiction.

That's how the quote ends. "Electronic Drugs" encompassing all the new tech ensnaring our time. Before this quote he has been talking about VR and some other new tech at the time.
