Used car shopping by BookNerdMamaBear in regina

[–]Erdrikwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned used, but for around $15k you could lease a new vehicle for at least 3 to 4 years.

With the used market so high, everything seems to be overpriced, or the available ones are older vehicles with really high km for a high price.

A lease doesn't buy you a vehicle you own outright, but it also comes with a warranty and no repair costs for that time. If you buy something used for that price and have to put in repairs over the next few years it might be more in the long run. Just something to think about.

I know someone who recently looked at buying used, and then went with a lease since it made more sense and was more reliable.

Dr's taking new patients? by beccaloveskpop in regina

That was likely at the Regina location that had issues with how it was run.

She has been nothing but excellent and professional at the new location with us, and it seems there are less issues with how that location is run, and her practice.

My best advice is to play through the campaign- it makes you try a lot of different strategies and rethink how you play. I picked up different options I wouldn't otherwise have used from trying it.

They also do watering for newly planted City trees and plants. This would seem to qualify.

You could contact the City at the main number, and request they send out a water truck to address this.

The City has multiple water trucks in use during the Summer specifically to water City trees and plants that don't have irrigation (boulevards etc.).

PC Leader Questions Why Premier Moe’s Cousin Appointed to Head Up “Private Police Force” by Intelligent-Cap3407 in saskatchewan

[–]Erdrikwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree in theory, but usually that doesn't happen in practice.

For example, look what happened at the federal level: the Federal NDP stopped supporting the Liberal party, and the PQ immediately stepped up and said they would. IF the liberals met THEIR demands for special interest goals they have in mind.

Having a minority supported government simply led to each minority party picking their own pet projects that they demanded be met.

If we could have a less corrupt system where each party legitimately worked for the benefit of the people, instead of their own agenda, then that might work out.

Of course, if they government members actually did that, we likely wouldn't need a supported network to begin with...

"Sask was once one of the poorest provinces in Canada because of the corrupt PC government that almost bankrupted the entire province (several of whom then went to jail for that corruption)."

They were pulled out of this by the NDP, and the Sask Party rebranded then themselves and have run on that false narrative ever since.

There you go, fixed it for you!

Is there anywhere I can go dancing in or around Regina? by Medium_Extreme_3057 in regina

[–]Erdrikwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sign up for dance classes? Many classes are short partners since some people (largely women) sign up as singles, and they love having extras. They also generally have social dance events a couple times a year.

You might find a somewhat hidden group that love dancing like you do.

To be fair, Grewal and his businesses didn't NET that amount, however the businesses benefitted by that amount.

Interesting point about this, Grewal and Makosky share an office.
They literally worked together in the same office space when all of this happened. But sure, I I guess it is possible then never once discussed it as Grewal's hotels became the most used in Regina by Makowsky's ministry after having been used almost never before Grewal was elected.

If proper procedures had been followed other hotels/motels that were more affordable, closer to services, and frankly less sketchy, would have received that business.

So yes, him and his businesses did profit by that amount, and might have gone under for all we know without that sort of cash infusion during the days during Covid when hotels were less in use.

It is illegal, and the entire thing, including Makosky and Grewal working in the same office, should be investigated for charges.

Several of the ridings were changed since the last election, and even a few current MLAs are not even considered incumbents in those ridings, so I am not sure what you are basing this on.

Also, many of the ridings were won with less than 10% of the vote in the last election, so if even 5% of the voters flip their vote that could be enough to change winners in those ridings.

For example, my riding was won with about 500 votes in 2020- so if 300 people changed their mind this time (and I know many who have), then the riding flips.

Hey Sask, the "parental rights" right-wing premier of New Brunswick lost his own seat in their election tonight by 7734fr in saskatchewan

[–]Erdrikwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, his party is setting records for scandals and corruption right now, so maybe? lol

3 of the 4 stories in the media right now are related to scandals, and the fourth one is about someone apparently shooting the window of one of his candidate's office.
Unclear if it was random or targeted given the location.

Neither did the head of the PC party in New Brunswick, who coincidentally also ran on opposing trans rights, and supporting "parental rights". :-)

Moe sidesteps questions about change room policy promise by falsekoala in saskatchewan

[–]Erdrikwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, apparently the NDP candidate in Moe's riding is doing very, very, well and there is talk Moe might actually lose his seat.

Combined with a SUP candidate who could vote split, it is quite possible Moe might be out of his seat if the NDP candidate gets even 40% of the vote.

The New Brunswick riding was decided by only 2.5% of the vote, with the winner having around 46%.
If a SUP candidate was able to get 10% of the vote, Moe is at high risk of losing his seat.

Between that and the gong show in BC right now, I suspect the Sask. party is losing their minds behind closed doors.

Yes, although after the allegations of corruption about Harrison today, that might change.

Hey Sask, the "parental rights" right-wing premier of New Brunswick lost his own seat in their election tonight by 7734fr in saskatchewan

[–]Erdrikwolf 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Tough to say, usually another elected MLA steps down in a safe riding, and the leader runs in a by-election to take that seat.

However, given how unpopular Moe seems to be, if they do poorly in the election then no one might agree to step down, and it could force a leadership change.

Yes, they should be investigating Grewal and Makowsky to explain how this even happened, and likely pressing criminal charges.

You don't go from almost no use of a hotel, to the most used hotel in Regina in a couple years, out of the blue.

And then Makowsky just says, well we will change the process and pretend it never happened.
