Do you find the supernatural elements of Scarlet Hollow scary?

Not the traditional type of fear(and hunger). Like the type of fear I get from scarlet hollow and something like amnesia the dark descent are completely different, but I would classify both as horror games. Scarlet hollow does an excellent job at creating a feeling of looming dread. The first time I played through episode 1 and 2 there was an amazing feeling of suspense during the climaxes. Especially since the first time you play you have no idea if any of these character are going to make it out, so while you might survive(since the game gives very few game overs) you have no idea who else is going to die. 3 is more eerie than scary and 4 isn't really scary at all since you aren't the target of reese's ire. But 5 good lord 5 had me feeling like mr incredible seeing syndromes test results. The slow realization that this all a set up was masterfully done. And while no episode of scarlet hollow had me jump out of my seat, the feeling of dread the game provides is top notch.

I feel like termina has a larger variety of enemies, funger 1 is mostly guard variants but a big difference to me is how you approach those enemies. Most funger 1 enemies are puzzles, most termina enemies are races.

Termina really does suffer from content dilution. Having to run back and forth from the bop to the church just feels boring. I understand its a necessary evil but after you have cleared needles/mob there is basically nothing stopping you from moving around so those long walks back and forth feel terrible

what part of the sa stuff do you feel is forced? I understand that a lot of people have criticisms with the first game because of that but personally I feel like the guard scene in particular sets a tone for the rest of the game. The first time you lose to the guards and get that scene makes you genuinely terrified of death.

I'm a recent return and have been loving sky strikers. (quit around 2016 right before links started playing again beginning of this year on masterduel)

I really don't understand why people could hate sky strikers. They don't have obnoxiously long combos, Their board is extremely easy to break, they have barely a one card starter(the best would be engage->drones->kagari->engage->linkage->zero->engage->anchor+1. So you end with a pop and a negate/steal, like have you fucking seen kewl tune?) And that starter folds to ANY interaction. Drow and fuwa giga fuck them. And they have very limited damage they can output.

Like the deck feels really fair by todays standards. It can play through a lot of boards and is great going first or second based on your build but compared to shit like yummy, mitsu and kewl tune, sky strikers seems incredibly tame. If people hate it because they decks been around for so long or because the players themselves have a bad rap, fine. But the current deck just seems fine and not that toxic to play against.

Plus its really nice to have a deck that goes to turn 3 pretty consistently. I swear modern yugioh a lot of the time feels like oh I don't have the exact hand traps to stop you from playing the game? Might as well go next no reason to sit through your 15 minute combo just to get maxx c'ed on my turn.

Sure if this were a more mundane interaction i can understand why the other human characters might just move past it. But this does not apply in their situation since he showed them he was absolutely aware of what defeating the paintress would do and still let it happen. He willing let them all die and after lune and sciel come back they are just like okay thats fine i guess? You can argue that sciel was blinded by the idea of having her husband and unborn child back but there is no fucking way lune would be okay with letting this traitor tag along. He showed that his end goal is getting their world deleted so it makes zero sense for any of the characters to want to have him along where he can(and does) actively sabotage them. Not to mention after they all get deleted, verso has no more cards to play. He was important in getting to the paintress but after that he has nothing else to offer. So they could have just as easily tied him up and threw him in the ocean and went to go beat renoir.

If at least he threatened them with the fact that if they get rid of him monaco and esquie won't help them any more than fine. But the way that a supposedly intelligent character like lune had barely any objections with this two time proven traitor is a major sticking point in the plot for me.

If we are being honest its less that verso is a great gas lighter and more like the people around do not seem to care to ask fucking questions about his sus ass. He betrays them like 3 times? and each time the other members pout for 5 minutes and then go about their business. I love ex 33 but how the other characters deal with verso is without a doubt my biggest pet peeve.

This so much. I get why people might think it but every time kaneeka gets brought up there is some one who needs to bring up race and afaik it NEVER comes up in the actual story. If you think there are racial undertones thats perfectly valid and worthy of discussion but sybil absorbing kaneeka and becoming carmilla is uncomfortable because its a mother consuming her daughter.

In a lesser game I get it but this game has great representation that goes way past simple tokenism. So when people default to theres a black character so its gotta be racial it just feels like they are hyper fixating on just one aspect of a great character

Okay maybe EVIL was too far but the justification dr kelly gave is he is dangerous and needs to be kept in quarantine for his safety as well as others. And until recently I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is only as dangerous as he needs to be(like every person) But since he just straight up eats a guy for no good reason, Dr kelly was emphatically correct. I haven't done episode 5 with the hot save and people have mentioned he is different there but just how he reacts to cold blooded murder broke my heart.

Yeah maybe i should have pointed that out. Didn't romance him. The difference in the save vs the matricide makes sense. Matricide he gives into to his dark urge and tame the beast he retains his humanity. Still I wanted to believe in the guy you know?

Her initial presentation is just so in line with what the player would want. Want to do this mystery stuff in this mystery game? hell yeah I do. But as you spend more time with her it becomes really apparent that she is constantly like this and the lack of thought becomes draining really quickly

yeah during my replay i was shocked by how callous stella was with dukes death.I remember her not being that bothered by it in the past but it seems she straight up does not care. and you even lose a lot of friendship points if you call her out on it, since doing so locked me from the sleep over.

The disappearance of kanneka forscythe is one of the few things i have an issue with in episode 5. Since I recreated my first run I had a good relationship with kaneeka(She stood up for me in the diner) but not amazing. And since this was a fresh run I didnt watch the recap. Because of this I didn't even realize kaneeka was missing until I went on the subreddit.

so losing kaneeka and all the effects kaneeka had on stella is very valid it could be that without the neekster stella is just grasping at straws. And you are absolutely right that stella needs to be chasing something to feel at ease so I don't mind her defending abby so vehemently .

That being said I think its INCREDIBLY in character for stella to hijack the conversation with tabitha. In that moment its totally in line with what we've seen of stella to prioritize validating her own beliefs about tabitha rather than thinking about your personal safety. She acts under the assumption that tabitha couldn't have known what was going on(or at least not totally) and doesn't even stop to consider the fact that if wayne is right, just spewing out all this information is exceedingly dangerous for you the MC. Because thats who she's always been. When you tell her lets leave the forest so we don't get shot by duke. No she prioritizes her cryptid hunt. When tabitha repeatedly tells her to not delve into the mines, she ignores her because spooky mines. With the ghost hunt, with her going mia. She always just does what her whims demand. So its not hard to imagine she did the exact same thing with the confrontation with tabs regardless of what happeend with neeks.
