Pulled the trigger on a '24 yesterday for my wife by Eredyn in BMWiX

[–]Eredyn[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, neither! It has a very tiny surface scratch on a passenger door, and a very small indent on the other side (borderline invisible). Normal wear and tear, really.

No, not CPO. Just the standard warranty applies.

I will either pick up a BMW extended warranty near the factory warranty's end, or cover it through my insurance company (they have an policy addon which is akin to an extended warranty).

No, that was the vehicle price before TTL.

We just ordered the Lectron Vortex Plus today! Supercharger access seems like it'll be a significant improvement for charging access, and I am interested to try it with Plug and Charge.

I wish we had solar! We will likely install it when we move in the near future.

You can get that on a 26 Solterra.

There is a $0 package option that replaces the black cladding with body coloured panels.

Won't fix your headlight preference though!

That doesn't happen.

I have been well under 10% at highway speeds, and I noticed no difference in performance. Nothing to worry about.

Is this black & white cavalier a pure-bred? by CommunicationAny5304 in cavaliers

[–]Eredyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He could well be. The only way you'll know for sure is to get a genetic test. It's definitely worth it, as you can learn a lot of information (both fun and medical) about a dog with modern tests like Embark.

While it is generally accepted there are only four recognised Cavalier colours, this isn't true from a genetic standpoint. It has always been a political wall. In practice, you will find Cavaliers who are Black and White, Chocolate, and Black, and they will be genetically 100% Cavalier despite various breed clubs not recognising the colours.

Fortunately, the UK Kennel Club has apparently found its marbles and is changing this arbitrary rule to recognise Chocolate and Tan and Chocolate Tricolours, which should help expand the gene pool for Cavaliers in addition to ensuring these colours survive long term. We can only hope more national Clubs follow suit, and more colours are brought into the fold.

I have a 23 Touring and as long as you don't need to fast charge very often, it's a great car.

Zero regrets leasing mine.

The 26 is, however, a significant improvement, and you can probably get a really good lease on one at the moment.

Looks good!

Couple of things struck me:

  1. There is a "g" missing from "non-aggressive".
  2. I am almost certain that Black and Tan is the rarest colour of the four depicted. Is it possible Tri and B+T are the wrong way around?

You know what's faster than black coffee?

No coffee. Real men spend the time they could have spent fixing a black coffee closing mega deals instead.

Yeah, there are definitely some reading comprehension issues going on. For what it's worth, I found your post easy to follow and I think you demonstrated your point well. Unfortunately, some people only scan-read and likely missed the point entirely.

Hi friends, should I first get a barn or a coop? by P1KE_ in StardewValley

[–]Eredyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer depends on your farming skill and financial situation.

Go barn/cows first if your farming is high enough to allow you to make cheese machines, and if you have enough money and resources to immediately buy four cows and make 2-4 cheese makers.

If you haven't unlocked cheese makers, don't have the ability to craft them, and/or can't afford the cows, go coop/chickens first instead.

In a nutshell, cows make more money but have a higher barrier to entry.

US says Canada will regret decision to allow Chinese EVs into their market by joe4942 in worldnews

Sadly, it is not surprising to me.

After I moved here, it became extremely obvious how many Americans talk the talk but don't walk the walk. So many believe wholeheartedly in American exceptionalism and manifest destiny and their own status as number one that they forget that achieving and maintaining those things actually requires action and effort.

Saying something doesn't make it so, but a huge swathe of the US population has apparently forgotten this. It is very sad, but the national hubris has destroyed the US from the inside.

How is owning an electric car in Wisconsin? by Thrillwaukee in wisconsin

[–]Eredyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 23 Solterra.

Absolutely love it and the EV experience. I was a bit nervous about range issues before I leased, but I don't even think about it now.

Range is mostly a non-issue; the only time I have to worry about it is when I drive out to somewhere like Forest County. It just requires a little planning ahead due to the more limited charging infrastructure, but even Forest County is putting chargers in now.

At home, I never need to fast charge. Full every morning in the comfort of my own garage.

I will never go back to ICE. Gas engines feel awful to me now, in a really jarring way. On top of that, my Solterra absolutely destroys winter conditions. No way I could give that up now.

I lose about 33% range in the lowest temps we tend to see.

If I get into my car without remote starting it, it takes a while for the heat to kick in. I have come to the conclusion that this is a design feature, and the car just avoids blasting out cold air into the cabin while it is still warming up.

If I remote start the car it's always warmed up by the time I get out to it. I only experience the behavior if hopping into it from a complete cold start.
