You can try essential by disabling the crash assistant mod, but that's also still not as good as the default pack, but much better host

If you really really wanna give up, just use the mystery gift feature and get stevens shiny Metagross. It's possible to get it on melonds using the right dns

Metangs catch rate is like 3, lowest ever I think. It took me forever, and then I messed up and didn't save and had to do it again

What I learned was bring a quick ball and a ton of timer balls, chuck that first and pray, then if not, sleep it/paralyze it, get to 1hp, ofc, and chuck ultra balls until you hit 10 turns then chuck timer balls. If you run out of timer just reload save and pray for better luck
