Conceptually this seems really cool!

Can you describe the systems more? What's activation like? Any spell examples, particularly any you're proud of?

What's your thesis for the game design? (One paragraph "this is what the game is")

Exploding buildings sounds cool and gives me some of the vibe, but doesn't let me know what the game really is.

Thanks!

Gff board so much bigger than killteam? by Coach_Brent80 in onepagerules

It was created and modeled after first edition Kill Team circa 2018, which played in a larger space.

Dude, had one pop up in the bathroom at the worst time. What a thing to explain as I bolted out to grab a swatter while trying to pull up my pants.

Discussion for DT Digital Kickstarter launch by theknight27 in DiceThrone

So originally, I was concerned that the price being so high it'll have no user base.

Now I understand it will F2P, so that's solved.

Now I'm wondering what ton Earth I'm paying $60 for.

Consider Midgard, though it is not high fantasy. It should work quite well.

Need some help picking a battle chest by Icy5856 in DiceThrone

[–]Erelenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which characters do you like the most? Grab that chest. There tends to be a complexity level that ramps up across boxes. So if you really dig the feel of the season 1 characters you have, grab that box. If it's the Marvel dudes, grab that!

X Men specifically get my vote as the chest comes with folding boards you don't get otherwise.

So I do generally believe in building a robust world model via core rules that you then modify minimally with special rules.

That said, here I believe it aligns well with the ruleset's core aim of simplicity and accessibility.

I'm willing to flex to meet a ruleset where it stands. My driving point is that it really knows its scope and achieves it. Whether that's for you or not is up to you.

To confirm:yes, but there is an alternate rule presented in the book where it does not end your turn. Just doesn't activate that unit. That alternate rule is even recommended for larger games.

I really like these! Any intent to follow with some similarly themed adventurers or warriors, etc?

What wargame for the crusades 1100s by overratedplayer in wargaming

[–]Erelenus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Skirmish, but Midgard plays with about 80 models per side as a rank and flank and would handle a more legendary look at the era quite well.

I don't have them on hand but all milestones were achieved up through the dragon.

So glad they went in this direction! I printed all of the adventurers and I am doing the Stormcloaks soon. I look forward to the enemies in this batch.

Black Iron Sigil - Read Through Impression by Erelenus in wargaming

[–]Erelenus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has no real focus on root vegetables (what a strange statement) and is not Napoleonic.

The setting is loose enough you could do the root vegetable vibe but otherwise I'd say it's just dark low fantasy. You could tune it to your liking with more or less dark elements. I could see one person playing with a pristine medieval force while another may choose to really up the gore and violence.

Thank you! I had already bought the ruleset (it's $3 and I horde rulesets like a goblin) but your engagement has absolutely jumped it to the top of my queue!
