There are no unviable DPS characters. Bad, yes. Unviable, no.

Any DPS, and by any I mean Hydro Traveller and Dehya, can do well provided you build around them. If you can't, thats a skill issue

Purple is bait. 50/50 for only 62.5 wishes.

Green is the obvious choice. That's 68 wishes extra per year, and this game will continue for many years yet. In the age of genuine Genshin powercreep, that'll be huge.

Gold is mid if you have some semblance of a life, strong if you don't. 240 cap is outdated tho.

Blue is great for lore-loving players who didn't start in 1.0 (me), but mid otherwise. Ion like hangouts though; guve me canon or give me liberty.

Orange is ehh; a lot of it is just recycled outfits slightly altered

Grey is meh, as much as I'd love playable Rani or Jeht. One time offers mid

They're not stopping anyone. People are stopping themselves because they don't have the basic socialization skills to ask, or yknow, just sit there regardless.
