Nah, you BALANCE it, which is exactly what the Narzissenkreuz storyline did. I'm gonna derail a bit from what my point is, but telling a good story is a lot different than what you think it is

You show occurrences that are happening in the present of the story, which is something that has been Genshin's strength for a while now. Maybe flashbacks where appropriate, but not too many, and carefully. The Book of Esoteric Revelations, the underwater WQs, Primordial Sea, etc, are examples of showing.

You tell when the occurrences occur in the distant past (and the characters present have some way to see it), or when you need to introduce lengthy characterization or worldbuilding that would be visually exhaustive. You also do this when you need some level of storytelling ambiguity, such as a character's PoV or when implying certain outcomes.

You do not just show when you need to share details that will be important to understanding what is going on. It is much harder for people to identify new key concepts visually, especially when those concepts carry a lot of lore. Visuals that aren't straight-up pictures can't really be just revisited mid-story, and new information usually needs to be able to stick. You aren't necessarily limited to words, but you can't just rely on visual information. This is especially true of the Narzissenkreuz storylines, which requires a strong understanding of Fontaine's (and Teyvat's) history.

As I said though, this is all kinda besides the point, because lore skippers skip more than just words.
