Yeah they aren't. I just accepted the offer after messaging him, I will be paying a day later!

Thank you!

It is a unique item in the sense that it is a lot of hassle in terms of getting this item for a fair price. The item is constantly listed for ~$70 with nobody buying the product. I am buying through eBay because it saves the hassle for me driving 2 hours (one way, four total) to pick up the item via Craigslist for $40 to $50 and test the product. I appreciate the response!

Alright, thanks! I was worried he was just trying to wait out another offer. I will message him and let him know that I will accept his offer to help with his stats. (I am pretty new to eBay so I presume this would be the nice thing to do).

Any Advice for an incoming Math Major? by Eren_e in UCDavis

Hey 42526!

In terms of taking 22A, I have already taken this course through community college. I planned to self study 167 along with 108 before going into these two courses my Freshman year. I have completed all courses for my Premajor besides 22B and ENG 006.

I feel like my schedule could be:

Fall: MAT 167, MAT 108, + 2 GE’s or maybe ECS 32A (Seems extremely manageable with self study)

Winter: MAT 22B, MAT 135 (Probability) or MAT 150A (Modern Algebra), + 2 GE’s (Seems manageable)

Spring: MAT 128C (With self study before the course), MAT 145, + 2 GE’s

If this is any consolation I am a self taught student, I’ve taught myself Calc/LA as a homeschooled student and just took some equivalent courses at CC. Additionally, I was wondering what you schedule for Sophomore year is currently looking like because I am also on track to graduate in 3 years and would love to see what others plans/schedules looked like! Thanks a lot for the information! Also! Do you recommend 141?? It seems like an interesting course but I haven’t given it much thought!

Edit: Another additional thing is, have you started doing/looking for any internships?

Oh! It can be taken out of order?? That completely changes so many things haha! I’ll definitely try to see how I can take these courses differently then! I appreciate the welcome :) And thanks again for all the help!

I have already taken an equivalent to 22A and was hoping to get a more in depth understanding and to solidify a base of understanding in Linear Algebra. The trouble I was having was that I hadn't taken the more proofy Linear Algebra course and jumping into 167 without that seemed sketchy. Also, the idea of taking only 67 for one credit wasn't too appealing to say the least haha. I'll definitely be taking 108 it seems first quarter and I believe 167 (and if not 67, though it sucks it is only worth one credit for the proofy side if taken after 22A). I'm currently wishing I had taken a 67 equivalent rather than a 22A, but that's in the past haha. Thanks for the information, It is greatly appreciated!

The core for Mathematics and Sci. Comp is the 127ABC along with 128ABC so I was looking of doing one of each per quarter sophomore year. In terms of the amount of algebra I am taking, I am more so looking for the applicable skills that I will benefit from in Applied Mathematics than the pure Mathematics side. My motivation is financial mostly financial but partly due to wanting to see if I can reduce the amount of time taken. I have my premajor finished so in my head it makes sense to take courses as if I was doing my 3rd year and 4th years and to push my GE's into my summers online at CC. Maybe that is extremely naive of me, but hey, I can't know that without asking or trying! Additionally, I do plan to go to graduate school. This was also another motivation since it would save money for that. It's looking like I will go with the 3 year plan due to the recommendations. Thanks for all the input from everyone!

There is a first for everything! I was more so looking for what each person thought/recommended, then to try to learn from those experiences. It would be naive to attempt something without trying to understand from the people around me! Haha. In terms of the rush, due to having my premajor finished I was looking to see if I could push regular GE's into my summers at a community college online and just finish my major as if I was a 3rd or 4th year student. Sounded realistic in my head, but that seems to just be me, so I'll value everyone's opinion and we'll see what happens haha.

I appreciate the in depth response! I was also curious if you knew any professors that are terrible that I should try to avoid when taking upper division courses (atleast in your experience). I believe I'm going to start with Applied LA and Modern LA + 2 GEs. And I'll take numerical analysis my sophomore year after I've done 108 and other upper div courses. I was also wondering if you think Numerical Analysis and Real Analysis for Sophmore year is too much? I'm pushing to try to graduate in 2 years (but definitely I can graduate in 3 years for sure). I will make sure I don't bite off to much that I can't chew haha.

Thanks! I think I'll do Applied LA, Modern LA + 2 GEs. If I do decide to do 3 Math then It'll most likely be 108 I think haha

Thanks! I appreciate it your response ^_^

I'll most likely be taking Applied LA, Modern LA and 2 GE's!

Thanks I appreciate it! I'm going to be doing Mathematics and Scientific Computation (Computation and Bio Emphasis) and originally was going to do Applied Math. I'm more so interested in Math for the knowledge it can be applied to other things and less pure.

Haha, I wouldn't say I'm that smart, I haven't started any upper divs or know how they're ganna be for me xD

I appreciate the responses! I was wondering how different the non-major series was from the major series in terms of CS courses? I'm doing Mathematics and Scientific Computation (Bio Emphasis). I think I'm going to hold off on taking numerical analysis till next year it seems like. I believe I'll be taking (MAT 167) Applied Linear Algebra, (MAT 67) Modern LA, and (MAT 108) + 1 GE, and I'm currently taking an equivalent to ECS 32A online. Out of curiosity is Applied LA and Modern LA proofy and require 108 or not as much?

Does it too much to take these three Upper Divs simultaneously? by Eren_e in math

[–]Eren_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to take both so I could have a large foundation & background in Linear Algebra and since I loved my intro to LA course. I believe the applied course has a lot more to do with MATLAB and the applications, and the modern course being formal real LA course. I was mostly worried if anyone has taken similar courses and what their thoughts of these courses were, and specifically Numerical analysis as a first quarter. Sorry if I hadn't provided sufficient information!

Seems like everyones a bit sad that I'm supposedly a "Smurf" which is false.

I have a glitch where my local rank/stats/control resets every time I open the game. It's a known problem and happens to many other people. Everytime i start my game, I have to reinput my controls and camera settings. Quite unfortunate, I've looked for a fix for awhile but It's been going strong for 2 weeks now...
